It's a sad situation for his family and those who care about him either way. I'm not so sure that the final story is out on this but even if it was sex-related, I'm not so gleeful about someone who was a good guy getting publicly shamed or ridiculed in death like this.

BTW, Bruce Lee was on the short list to be Caine in the series. He would have been an ideal character for the role. Plus, he "kinda" knew martial arts. Carrradine was equivalent to Lee Majors in the Bionic Man TV series - slo-mo to mask his lack of skill. In this case, martial arts. The Hollywood suits were once again afraid of casting a minority in a lead role; instead, falling back to white actor in slant-eyed makeup mode. For its time, reviewers say the show was risky. While I can't say I "get" auto-erotic asphyxiation and can't say I've ever known anyone who was into it (to the best of my knowledge) it seems no more deviant than, say, using handcuffs or having a three-way.
