Ramm, no love for the '97 540/6 in Miami that I PM'd you about? For the money it's a damn nice car with some great mods.

It is bigger than I want- I'd like to have some AutoX fun and maybe some track days.

Ooooh, Alpina!

It's up to you, but have you ever driven a 540/6? Mine was a VERY willing partner on backroads drives with the BMW club. I sold it to a local guy who proceeded to autoX the hell out of it for two years, along with putting nearly 50k on it. They very much do not drive big, especially when set up well.

It was on Ebay last year. I think the buy it now was in the 20's, auction stalled at 14.
It's not a real Alpina, but a clone derived from an '82 528 if I remember correctly...
