Big freeway backup today with Porsche connection

Somebody apparently broke into the old Performance Products building in Van Nuys -- possibly to steal the copper wiring.

One suspect ran to hide in a storm drain on the 405, and LAPD shut down three lanes southbound.

All over the news.

Performance Products was bought out by Eckler's (Corvettes) out of Florida a while back. The building now stands empty.

Is that why I haven't gotten one of those catalogues in a while?

MidAmerica Motorworks (another Corvette outfit) also bought Tweeks awhile back, and they ran it out of business within two years.

Less competition for Wayne. Seems like he might have been kicking A$$ anyway.

Paragon was okay for some stuff (I'd used them for a few things I couldn't get through Pelican or in cases where the price was HUGELY different). Their customer service wasn't nearly as good as PP though and Pelican is still my "Number One". I always start by looking here.

Haha! Nah, just a shameless plug for Wayne and Co. here. They do a great job. If I was trying to suck up I'd never admit to using a competitor!

I believe Performance Products still has Offices in Van Nuys, just no warehouse.

or they thought hordes of white gauge face kits, 914 rear reflector kits, Members Only style Porsche jackets and sheepskin seat covers were still there for the taking.

Still a mess at 1:50 this afternoon. Had to pass it twice today.

Fun times!

Looks like they finally were able to get the suspect that was stuck in the storm drain.
