New Rescue Shih tzu

Just had to share this. We already have a 2 year old Shih tzu (Lucy). Got a call from a frind last week looking for a home for a friend of a friends dog. Four year old Shih tzu. Owners have fallen on bad times (lost jobs, unexpected new kids, etc) ...could not afford to care for the dog any longer. They were thinking they would have to take the dog to the pound until our friend of a friend said no, I'll find him a home. Allow me to introduce Scooter - a four year old mini Shih tzu weighing in at a mere 7 lbs. Vet says he's healthy and he is now up to date on his shots. Under, but not mal-nourished will get to 10 lbs max. Former owners could not afford to have him groomed - he was a matted mess. Unfortunately, they had to take it all off to start over. One of the cutest sweetest dogs I've ever been around. Here is the before and after. He'll grow back soon - I promise. I'll even follow-up with some pics after he looks like a Shih tzu again. My mother-in-law said " are you sure the groomers gave your the right dog when you picked him up"?

Here is my new buddy - he follows me everywhere!

Had a Shih tzu show up on my door step in my late teens. What a great dog. Enjoy the addition, you did a great thing!

Remember to hide the underwear! I am sure that having one Shih tzu, you know what I mean.

Look a little lower he's got a porn star something else....wifey says "oh my, he's got a big pee pee" .... she never says that to me!

Rent Best In Show. There's a funny line in there about Shih Tzu rescue.

They're fun dogs. My ex had one, so we got another. When we split up, I got him a companion. Helped my ex get one, too. Then wound up with him, which makes three... So it's Three Dog Night every night at my house...

They look good with a "Schnauzer" cut.

High Steve, its been quite some time (pre Shih Tzu) since I've seen that movie and don't remember the Shih Tzu reference. I'll have to rent it again.

I have enjoyed pics of your dogs in the past and have shared them with my wife. Really great shots!

Here is our Lucy as a puppy prior to getting groomed in the foreground and our neices dog Maggie on the couch. Maggie was the reason we opted for a Shih Tzu when we got a dog to replace the loss of our cat of 17 years. I had been a Great Dane person previously (two) but love these little dogs!
