Thieves

Was looking forward to getting my 944 up in the Sierra this summer now that the snow is gone only to find out some tweekers busted my hatch and stole roughly 2800.00 dollars worth of stereo equipment, if that wasn't bad enough they destroyed my console where all my climate control is or was, just had to vent.

The zombies are getting restless and hungry.

We should all be ready for more of this as the country goes to hell.

Sorry for your loss and damage (have a 944 myself).

Spot on. There is a reason why the ammo sales have been going crazy recently.

Sometime over the weekend, sombody got into my unlocked truck IN MY DRIVEWAY, and took all of the 'door pocket change' and my GPS out of the center console. Didn't take the mount or the power cable.
What's the world coming to?

Dan,

Had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. Put motion sensor lights in the driveway, side and back of the house. No problems since but that usually means that they just go elsewhere, which is what I want.

Graham, small problem there is that if you shoot someone stealing your V1, they better be threatening you or YOU will be the one going to jail. In most states there has to be a threat against the home owner (and it usually has to occur at home) before deadly force can be used.

I know we all have stories, but when I was growing up, we never locked our doors and always left the keys in the cars and never had any problems. Now, if I leave anything of value near the road, it will be gone in a day or two. Tweekers everywhere.

And Graham, your post will be exhibit 1 in your murder trial . . .

And 944, if you live in the Empire near modesto, I'm surprised your car wasn't stolen.

Several churches reported car break-ins this past weekend........during services.

My doors are always locked and if I had anything worth stealing in my cars, I would hide it.

you are joking right?

I hate thieves. I caught a guy breaking into someone else's car once. Bounced his forehead off the roof of the car, knocked him cold, and he was bleeding pretty well, started honking the horn of the car, guy comes out of his apartment, I tell him I caught this guy breaking in, he should call the cops, and left.

What in the hell are you thinking leaving $3k worth of stereo equipment in your car?

Sounds like you were asking for it. Not terribly wise.

Just tell them that you're about to shoot the SOB that's breaking into your car. That should get their attention.
