Back yards in the summer time...

Anyone into landscaping and yards? Share your pics here? I know we normally show off our passion for cars and planes, but how about a little greenery?? I'll start - worked in the yard all weekend, and have the sunburn to prove it...

Of course, tho be honest it looks a lot better when it's full of kids having fun - but this was early in the a.m.

Our two tortoises and the citrus coexist in this planter.

My neighbor's pool - beautiful in it's simplicity.

Me, I live in a slightly different world..

One with no fences and plenty of blue sky and mountains... No pool, but it would be frozen over 5 months of the year anyway..

Oh man - that's spectacular.

You know, Hugh is a regular poster here, and he live closer to LA than I do. But his yard is much closer to yours than to mine!

Not quite as nice, but we like it:

Actually, that's the abandoned property next door. Ugh. DAE, why don't you come to our house and make it look like yours. I don't have the time and my wife would appreciate it.

Nice fire touch. Is this where you perform the Mayan sacrifices?

This is part of the back yard. A covered room.

I'll post a couple more of the actual yard area tomorrow when the morning sun is hitting things better.

Don't have any real pics handy, but this is kinda what it looks like. The landscaping is only a year old so it still looks kinda bare but it will grow into it eventually:

This is actually a side patio. It was a wasteland of angled patio slabs & I spent a good chunk of a summer laying the stone, the steps etc. I must have done it right, because it hasn't moved a millimeter in 9 years despite our harsh winters. We got carried away with Boston Ivy though. The pergola at the end supports a wisteria that is spectacular in bloom. Note the Pcar content.

My backyard is still a wasteland though. Since we back onto a busy road, I am letting it return to forest . . . much to my wife's dismay . . .

I did the brush hog work, the Big Guy did the rest.

He does nice work in the winter too. I mean, it's not a tropical paradise, but what are you gonna do in Washington state?

I'm envious of you pool guys. If we could get more than 4 months a year use out of a pool, we'd have one.
