sittin on the epicenter

Just felt an earthquake a little while ago, but it was different. Two very large very loud bangs and that was it. No rocking, no swaying. Lasted only a couple of seconds but it felt like a truck running into the wall.

I checked the USGS and it was only a 2.9 which I normally wouldn't have noticed but the epicenter is within a mile from here and it was only 6/10ths of a mile deep.
Never been sitting on top of one like that before.

Wow, that was pretty shallow for most quakes. Hope is wasn't a prelude to something more.

I thought you were in Coto, no? If so, you're a long way from North County

Nopers, I live in north Orange, near the 55 and 91 fwys.

Coto is a very nice place, I don't think they'd have me

I felt one of those a few years back. Epicenter < 5 mi from my house

Best I remember is was classified as a ledge quake…
Alot of noise, one big thump (like a jet broke the sound barrier except the house moved vertically)

No damage and no aftershocks in my case.

They're all preludes to something more, Marv.

I wish it would hurry and get it over with...

You know, at least I get a couple of days warning before the hurricane hits.
