Cats can sense a lot of things that us humans cannot.

Might be a lot of wisdom in this. Enjoy it and hope the company is welcome.

Interesting thing happened this evening. If you guys recall from other threaeds, we had a cat, Bella, that we brought with us to this house when we bought it two years ago. After about 2 months she went almost totally feral refusing to come inside and eventually abandoning us in favor to run with neighbor's outside cats. She hasn't come near us or in our yard for atleast 12-15 months.

Tonite I was sitting in the bedroom with the doors open to the deck. Bella just walked right in, over to the bathroom and hopped up on the counter to drink from the vanity sink faucet like she last did over 2 years ago.

Perhaps the absence of estrogen around here now makes her feel more welcome:D

Jim,

That is a sign. Cats are funny that way.

Good darn luck to ya!

Jeremy seems to speak from experience...

I've never had a seriously bad run in with one, but I've been close enough to them to know I want no part of it!

WOOOHOOOO....GOING to NOLA TO SEE THE sAINTS AND vIKINGS PLAY tHURSDAY. Hanging out at a friends house in the Quarter for the long weekend and staying over for the Ole Miss/Tulane game. After the humiliating OT loss to Jacksonville State in Double OT tickets outside the stadium ought to be cheap:D

The best part...my stepson and his best friend are gonna come down and do the quarter with me.

WHODATHOTTYTODDY!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

We may lose the game but we're damn sure gonna win the party!!!!!!!!

Blow off tomorrow's classes and head this way Sid. I bet you've never done the French Quarter. I'm leaving about 2:00 pm. If you leave now you'll be here by mid morning...

porsche4life 09-08-2010 09:49 PM

Wish I could.... I have a test in my most important class Friday though....

And I haven't been to work in like a week... If I don't go in pretty quick I might be replaced....

So I'll have to pass... :(

Three weeks ago I was on a cruise ship that sailed from NOLA.

I think Carnival was having trouble filling the boat, and I guess they offered really cut-rate faires at the last minute, so about half the boat was New Orleans natives...

Which meant that large groups of people were inclined to break out into "WHO DAT! WHO DAT!" at random moments.

What the hell does that even mean?

From Wiki...

Who dat? is a chant of team support, used especially by fans of the New Orleans Saints, an American football team. The entire chant is: "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say gonna beat dem Saints?"

Well, its now been a full month since the missus moved out...dogs, ferrets, teenage dtr and all. Since the move we've had one brief encounter (civil). She looks very, very tired. She's had a sunday afternoon cookout to show off their new apt...somehow my invitation got lost in the mail.;)

I did make it to NOLA for the Saints game and Ole Miss game. Between the two I spent 30 hours in Orleans parrish general lockup and general population. A truly interesrting and educational experience for a criminal trial lawyer. More aqbout that in an upcoming thread.

On a positive note I did something for myself that was long overdue...a physical. I was nervous about the results. Surprise, surprise: My BP was sky hhigh (210/110) but I was placed on a mild BP med (diuretic only) and it read 115/82 today. Here's the kicker: cholestero is 140!!!! Triglycerides only 130!!!! Glucose 100 even!!!!! Oh yeah...I've lost 22 lbs in the past month.

Headed to a DE at Little Talladega tomorrow. Life is good and getting better.

You don't know the half of it...from transvestite fashion mods to orange jump suits, to fights between their jealous lovers, to wine made from applesauce, water and mulched leftover white bread, to the intense block barber, to feeling like the Dustin Hoffman character in "Pappillion"as I held onto my reading glasses as my only reminder I was a human being with a life somewhere outside....interestingly, I never felt fear.

Went out last night and bought a cool LCD TV for my kitchen counter. Then a buddy of mine came over and we decidied to do a Scotch tasting comparing blended and single malt varieties and compared spoons we have. A good nite. Hadda sleep on the floor tho:D

There is no script for what you are going through, but within two months she may figure out that NOBODY is going to do for her what you have done for her.

If that happens, you need to have some idea about what you want out of life. Personally, I would get my ducks in a row and start the paper process from your end.

Your life, your rules.
