I need to check/adjust the valves of my 3.2 Carrera. Bleed the brakes, oil and filters, spark plugs, etc..

Such tedious work. Sigh..

slodave 07-30-2011 11:41 PM

And then drive really fast.

porsche4life 07-30-2011 11:46 PM

If he'd drive faster, it wouldn't need a tune up...

Italian tune ups do wonders....

Evening Gents,

Glen soo impressed how much stuff you managed to stuff into your card, don't think I could have fit that much stuff in, especially if the boys are in the back! Would like to do a road trip in the Porsche, either one, but getting either going would be a prerequisite!

slodave 07-31-2011 01:41 AM

Early morning for me. I'm checking out for now. Linux 1, me 0. Back at it later.

Porsche-poor 07-31-2011 07:49 AM

Morning. Off to go play.

When is my life gonna slow down a little? As the song goes I am much too young to feel this damn old

porsche4life 07-31-2011 10:23 AM

I hear ya rick....

9dreizig 07-31-2011 10:26 AM

Hey Sid I'm
Thinking about getting a vinyl wrap instead of paint for the track dog what do u think?

porsche4life 07-31-2011 10:30 AM

Unless you are going to start keeping it inside, I'd say no. Living outside full time, that vinyl will start to shrink and peel in 5-7yrs. IIRC you have some peeling going on right? You are going to need to get all the bad stuff off, and a smooth surface for the vinyl. I'm not sure what the rate on paint is up there, but if you did some of the prepwork, I think you could get paint for close to the same price as the wrap. Remember, you can't buff a scratch out of vinyl.

As far as vinyl....I have that chunk of black for your windshield ready to go.... You want it?

9dreizig 07-31-2011 10:35 AM

It's way cheaper and it's a track car 5 years is fine and it stays in the garage most times
I've already started taking the old paint off
Yes I'd like it u have my address right?

porsche4life 07-31-2011 10:38 AM

If its cheaper and you are OK with the short life I say go for it. You don't have to have all the old paint off, just make sure you have a smooth surface.

I think I have your address around here, I'll drop you a PM if I don't. I'll get that out tomorrow.

Good afternoon guys. We got through registration then went across the river to do a downtown tour. It was HOT, but we survived. When I got back I got the car numbers on and my car tech inspected. We will be going to the Zone 5 pre-welcome party, then the the ga big welcome party.

I did the calculations on gas mileage and so far I am at 24.63 MPG.

livi 07-31-2011 11:43 AM

Good mileage for the old girl, Glen!

Now, guys. You know I have a reputation of driving very fast. I remember one time, I almost hit 5k rpm! That was scary!

slodave 07-31-2011 12:00 PM

Whoo! Rain in July.

GH85Carrera 07-31-2011 01:15 PM

Stijn!!

The sky is dark and I hear thunder. My car is parked safely in the underground garage. Tomorrow is the concours. I will take photos.

GH85Carrera 07-31-2011 01:39 PM

Stijn!!

For the Oklahoma & Texas folks here is a picture of rain. Water does indeed fall from the sky. http://tapatalk.com/mu/0c233a02-cb99-7cf3.jpg

Porsche-poor 07-31-2011 07:41 PM

Noah930 07-31-2011 07:50 PM

Hmm. No precipitation for me. I drove up to the Bay Area for a cousin's wedding this weekend. 9 hr drive to get back taking the scenic 101 way back home. And with traffic and the kids' bathroom breaks.

porsche4life 07-31-2011 08:00 PM

We'd take some moisture....
