Well I have a feeling mine is going to be put away very soon. Pete said the S word

All year Porsche weather in Australia, Rick.
Summer can get a bit hot for 930 AirCon.

Rick V 11-26-2011 01:37 PM

Lanna is triple black and I removed the ac, I drive her in temps that melt most people, I love the heat

vas930 11-26-2011 01:41 PM

Did you remove it for a weight saving?
Or are you insane!

Rick V 11-26-2011 01:47 PM

Well even with it operating correctly it is useless in the humidity of the mid atlantic region, so I opted instead for the 78lbs off of the car. I still have it and all the parts are stored in vacuum bags, I can always put it back

vas930 11-26-2011 01:55 PM

Is it 78lbs ?
Man, thats a lot of weight.
What else have you done to her, Rick.
I know we dont talk cars here, but I love these bloody things.

Rick V 11-26-2011 01:59 PM

I just did the upgrades like the chain tentioners but she is bone stock and going to stay that way, right down to the original paint

Just saw a coyote in the pasture... Chased him for a bit and fired a few shells in his general direction. I really need a ranged weapon, The ol 12ga isn't much use out 100+yds...

Rick V 11-26-2011 02:06 PM

45.70 will do the trick. :)

vas930 11-26-2011 02:08 PM

Sweet.
I would love to add a stock original SC to my 930 one day.
A great drivers car.
Costly to get a good one in Australia.
I have driven a lot of modern porsches in the last few years.
All great cars, but I love the air cooled cars.
I test drove a few GT3s and modern turbo cars but ended up buying this old 930.
A handfull to drive, raw and smells like fuel inside.
I did like the 5 speed I had in my 89, but they are rare in Australia.
I love driving this thing on the edge.

porsche4life 11-26-2011 02:09 PM

I was thinking something more along the lines of an 18" barreled AR15...

Rick V 11-26-2011 02:13 PM

Vas if you like driving on the edge you should track the car. Public roads are not the place. I know I know but I don't push the car or myself beyond 7/10 on the street

Sid a .223 will do the job but that is a small round, just sayin'

vas930 11-26-2011 02:19 PM

I do track the car, Rick.
Doing Phillip Island in Jan.
70% is all I do on the mountain roads.
Our road laws are much harsher than yours.
Very easy to lose your licence out here.
As my car is so fast, anything beyond short bursts is goodbye licence.

porsche4life 11-26-2011 02:19 PM

Its also a fairly cheap, fun to shoot round... ;)

.223 will kill anything I need to kill, no problem.

vas930 11-26-2011 02:21 PM

Why do you want to kill things, Sid.

I guess I just like making really really big holes in stuff

porsche4life 11-26-2011 02:24 PM

I agree it is fun... But finding somewhere to shoot those big guns is challenging, and they cost more $$$ to shoot....

And that reminds me FCK! The chunk of land that was just sold to the south backs up to my shooting range.... There will now be a house behind my backstop, going to have to come up with something different.

Nuisance animals. We live in the country, and we get animals such as skunks, possums and armadillos by the house frequently. They all carry rabies and can be dangerous to our dogs, aside from the damage they do to the landscape.

And they coyotes, well they screw with all sorts of things, come up and disturb our dogs in the night, etc, etc.

Coyotes really serve no purpose aside from being destructive and ****ting on things.

Rick V 11-26-2011 02:31 PM

They say the bear is back in my neighborhood, I never saw it the first time, doubt I will see it this time

porsche4life 11-26-2011 02:32 PM

You need a much larger round for bear....
