I just checked out the rental rates for 172's ... I didn't realize how affordable they were, with fuel included and all.

It really would be something worth pursuing, getting a pilot's license that is, considering that I could take flight lessons on long lunches from work. It would get me out of the office and doing something actually productive....

Yeah this week in my industry is traditionally slow and very long. does make is very boring. I have just enough to keep me from a standstill but not enough to actually make me move beyond a slow crawl.

Same here

Just benchmarked my 2 32 SSD disks
turns out the cheaper OZD Onyx is about the same spead as the more expensive Vertex
All relative, cause i bought em both second hand for about the same price.

They are both scorching fast compared to the normal hard disk i have now

And if i combine the 2 SSD disks in a raid set, the performance more then doubles.

So that sounds great.

But, this is my work pc, which is not nearly as fast as my home machine.
So the end results may still change a bit, my home disks are already in Raid, but i'm confident that these SSD buggers will still smoke the old setup with a serious lead.

Wel, i don't consider myself an actual nerd. I personally don't care enough about programming, or whatever.. I rarely do much on computer unless it involves my job.. and i rarely do it for fun.

I used to be more technical, but everybody is now a Windows experct, Netware is no longer used, and Linux, well it just doesn't get me exited..I problem is just that, a problem to be resolved.
I don't see em as a challenge, cause i just got to much of em to fix, and they are usually quite boring because basically i'm fixing stuff that could have been avoided if people just bothered to RTFM or use Google

So other then the occasional excitement over some piece of hardware that's a bit faster.. i'm not much of a nerd. I get more exited about retro gaming or oldschool hardware then new stuff.
And i get a hellofalot more exited bout guns & ammo, & cars...

Just wanted to inject a little symmetry into the thread. Stijn's posting regularly but where is DocFluffer?

Oh yah, good morning!

I think Doc Fluffer & G-man have been captured by space aliens and taken to the home planet. They seem to be MIA.
