Flieger 04-10-2012 08:09 PM

Well, I thought at first he was confusing Caroline with a girl that I had trouble talking to.

nynor 04-10-2012 08:13 PM

just keep saying hi, for crying out loud. and smile. that is it. that is the big enchilada. there is nothing more. stop acting like chicks don't get it. hell, she got it before you ever even posted here that you might kinda sorta be interested. she is about three steps ahead of you. she noticed that you noticed her before you even noticed her. aaaAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

okay, that was a bit over the top. forgive me for using a rhetorical device, please. but, seriously.... i speak the truth. just say hi and smile.

nynor 04-10-2012 08:17 PM

That's a good point. I hadn't considered that.

Flieger 04-10-2012 08:22 PM

Well, I haven't heard from Tweeze in a while. I guess she is all talk... ;):D

tweezers74 04-10-2012 08:23 PM

Nynor, I am with you. Max, you think too much. Unusual for a guy. Just go with it.

nynor 04-10-2012 08:24 PM

time to consider it. :)

ok, i am really off to bed, now, before i REALLY get myself in trouble. LOL!

Speak of the devil...

Uh, I mean hi Tweeze. :D

Some of the advice seemed to give me the idea that if I don't act on it that she would think I am not interested. Now with this angle I am thrown into a dilemma.

Flieger 04-10-2012 08:27 PM

And yeah, paralysis by analysis is not good for an engineer, but I do tend to think things through very thoroughly, especially when I am passionate about/interested in the subject. Which is an understatement in this situation.

at work right, in the break room. FYI: if any of you socal guys decide it's ok to fly a glider at 16-17,000 feet west of Big Bear, Im going to kill you. maybe literally. We had some bozo trolling around in a glider right in the arrival corridor for all of the LAX, SNA, ONT arrivals tonight...right where they need to make a crossing restriction at either FL180 or 17,000 depending or north or south routing. Multiple aircraft had RA's because of this bozo. Ugh.

nynor 04-10-2012 08:29 PM

there is no dilemma. by saying hi and smiling, you ARE ACTING. that is it. the whole secret. done. if she is interested (and, frankly, worth your time), she will make it easy for you to make time for her. get it?

trust me. i used to overthink this stuff. women are complicated. but in this, they are simple creatures.

The highest I have my glider was about 3,600'. R/C glider. :D

Embraer 04-10-2012 08:32 PM

MSL or AGL? ha!

Flieger 04-10-2012 08:33 PM

I've heard stories from someone about having a back seat ride in a glider at El Mirage and the pilot was catching thermals, then decided to trade all the altitude for speed and swooped down to pretty much ground effect on the lake bed, keeping up with some lakebed racer car.

slodave 04-10-2012 08:34 PM

MSL. ;)

I have a full compliment of telemetry in it. Both static and GPS. It also has a video downlink so I can watch from a screen, all my info is overlayed on the screen, like a HUD system.

OK, I get it. It still scares me. I hate being out of control of major events in my life (or what I perceive as major at the time and will come to realize is no big deal later). :(

Embraer 04-10-2012 08:34 PM

ive seen it out there. id be more worried about smashing into one the General Atomics UAV's that constantly fly there, ha!
