Dealing with credit cards is a pain!
I was trying to run the credit card for the freds. They have been having to go to higher managemenet to approve everything AGAIN. They finally called back and said try again. I have a magic atutoriziation code but no place to enter it. I spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to talk to a human at our bank. After talking to 4 different humans I get the one person that told me the magic secret code to make it all work. I had to remember the line from one of my very favorite movies Outlaw Josey Wales "endeavour to persevere." <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/csEzTwKemwY?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
this has been my week of vacation.
i've done the timing belt on the subaru. i went scuba diving for the first time, catching crayfish. i reloaded a bunch of .308 cartridges. fly fishing (which was an interesting experience and not relaxing, unfortunately, as it should have been), a job interview this morning, and a bunch of other stuff. today, i am going to sit on my arse and watch world poker tour episodes. yep, that is what i am going to do. and drink beer. i am sore and tired and bruised and cut and scratched from all the other activities (especially that damn timing belt). i already informed my wife that i am going to be lazy all frickin' day. :D |

It is a tough job but someone has to do it. |
I went down to the music shop this morning. I was looking at some CD versions of Floyd but they were $16.99 each and I already have the mp3s so I went for Santana, Abraxas, and Chicago Transit Authority which were only $9.99 each.
|
I also found a whole bunch more room - like .2 gigabytes - on my iPod. Turns out that my Wagner was still in .wav format. I made AAC copies and that compressed them down nicely.
Yay! Now I can fit more Santana and Pink Floyd! :D |

Max, back long long ago when the world was still black & white & I was a kid in 1960 my Dad was flying to Japan from Hawaii fairly often. Since he was the pilot of a cargo plane he could bring home super cheap stereo equipment. Transistors were only for crummy little pocket radios. He brought back a huge stereo system. All tube amp with speakers the size of a washing machine. This was in the era when woofer & tweeter were not yet in the dictionary. Yes really!
He would come home from a mission and crank up the 1812 Overture. That system would make the house rattle all the neighbors knew my dad was back. We were living off base in Pearl City. Non of the neighbors had ever seen or heard of a stereo system like that. All they had was the crummy little mono radios. |

Oh yeah. They got that done last Friday. Smaller units, better cooling and they say my electric costs will cut in half
