Happy New Year to you as well.

Wow, I don't even have to say anything to get ribbed.

I have a question from my dad for the Aussies. He asked if Australian Christmas cards have pictures of sunny scenes like the beach, or if they feature the northern hemisphere's traditional snowy winter pictures.

slodave 12-31-2012 08:23 PM

That's right! :p

Flieger 12-31-2012 08:26 PM

And what triggered that question is that this was playing on the radio on our way back from the tour of the USS Iowa

Yikes! Link does work though. :D

I wanted to hear it from a real, hungover Aussie. :)

My senior project partners have abandoned me over break. On the plus side it means I get to do everything my way. I actually like working alone on engineering stuff. :)

Alissa is in a cabin in Tahoe for new year celebrations. She sent a text yesterday saying she did not have a computer.

Don't know what happened to the other guy.

slodave 12-31-2012 08:40 PM

Of course they abandoned you. Break means exactly that. Take a break from your studies. They will still be there after the holidays.

Flieger 12-31-2012 08:41 PM

Except that we (the FSAE team) had decided just before break to go in a different direction with the design of the car and to design everything anew over break (although some stuff would draw on last year's car).

porsche4life 12-31-2012 08:44 PM

Sounds like a reason to drink to me.....

C'mon max, do a shot with me!

Flieger 12-31-2012 08:47 PM

Don't have any in the house. Well, my dad did get some gin the other day since gin and tonics always remind him of Christmas.

He hadn't had one in a while and I think it actually gave him a bit of a hangover the next day- he had something like a stomach flu in the morning but was better by the next day.

Is the alcohol in gin different from the alcohol in beer? Ethanol vs. something else? I know methanol is poisonous.

Flieger 12-31-2012 08:48 PM

Is OK in the central timezone?

Flieger 12-31-2012 08:52 PM

The problem with these FSAE cars is they make my 911 seem so big and heavy. Now I want a Formula Ford or something like that. Maybe one of those little sports racers that they use in IMSA lights and SCCA.

Gin is made from ethyl alcohol and is flavored with juniper berries.

I knew the juniper berry thing. Smelled nice, though not as nice as the real junipers around here.
