You just can't get your stereo loud enough for this one.

please! we need a picture of 'pirate tweeze'!

Ha ha! Sorry to disappoint, fellas but no pirate tweeze. But I feel 500% better. He put a "bandage contact" in my eye. He said because of my screwed up eye cells, it wouldn't heal in the short amount of time like other people. Good news is that my eyes feel better. Bad news is that I was right when I told Sidney my eye was getting bad again. He told me that the cells were growing back agin and unless we do something, I WILL be blind again like I was three years ago. He threw some options out there but told me not to worry about it now since we have to heal my eye up. Talk about it next time I come in. Sigh. Doc said I had a good run with my eyesight back for two years. I would have to agree. :)

How did you scratch your eye? And what causes the blindness?

I scratched my eye on Tuesday. Don't know how. It happened early in the morning and the only thing I can remember doing is washing my face when I woke up. Maybe got some of my facial cleanser in my eye?

And my blindness in that eye happened over a period of about 7 months until I was blind for about a year. Then I got my eyeball scraped twice and it kept the psycho cells at bay for about two years. Don't know what caused the cells to go psycho. My eyesight was getting worse so I went and saw my ophthalmologist. He saw something "funky" on my eye and said he wouldn't touch me until I saw a cornea specialist. I saw two of them before I settled with this one. When I first started seeing them, my eye was just fuzzy. As they tried to figure out what was wrong with my eye (steroids and every antibiotic under the sun), it only got worse, until I was legally blind in that eye. That is the year I learned how to snowboard, surf, and got my motorcycle license. Thought I would never get the chance if I waited. I have the same weird cells in my left eye, just not as bad. I finally switched to this doc and he was more aggressive. Decided to scrape my eyeball... Take off the weird cells and hope it grows back normal. First time didn't work. Second time, worked to an extent. Most of my vision came back except for a very small part of my periphery. And that's where we have been hanging out for two years ... until now.

That's how my Porsche story started. I originally was saving for a motorcycle. When I lost my eyesight and it came back, was too scared to try and ride a bike but could handle a car better. In comes the idea of restoring my dad's Targa...

If you're shaving with a modern razor or a 'safety' razor, a brush is by far the single most important part of the shave. I stumbled upon a nice English Silver Tip at a great price once and wouldn't think twice of dropping the $$$ for a new one if it ever wears out!

Any of you peckerheads use a fitbit??
I picked one up 12 days ago......and as of this morning I've lost 12lbs.....drinking beer and eating pizza and making my dog hate the thought of going on a walk because it usually means 5+ miles every night...

Yup, I read up on Badger & Blade - Home and decided that if I was doing this, I am doing it right... I read lots of reviews that said that the Omega Boar hair brushes break in good after a few weeks and are almost as good as the badger. So for $10 we will see, and if I really like this I'll get a badger and demote this one to travel. :)

Night guys... Getting up with the roosters tomorrow to go to Larned, KS to pick up moms new car... ;)

Hint... Its blue....

HHI944 09-27-2013 08:05 PM

What is a fitbit?

Had to take Camber to the vet today. She is 12 and they are spaying her in the morning to hopefully get rid of a bad infection. Was bad enough they are doing the operation ASAP. Should hear results around 9:30am.

Tore me up to leave her there. She started barking as soon as I told her to stay and would be back. Could hear her barking until I drove off. They wouldn't let me bring her back in the morning. They did have a very nice boarding facility and board lots of dogs. 3 owners came in to pick up their dogs from being boarded while I was there.

The cost was just under my put to sleep and get a new puppy limit. Not too sure how well animal anesthesia works since the animals can't tell you if they remember. Had to change vets with my last golden because she HATED the first vet after he spayed her. He was the only person I ever saw her actually bite. Before then she liked going to the vet. Right after being spayed and until I changed vets she would run and get in the bath tub (her thunderstorm refuge) if I said lets go to the vet. After two trips to the new vet she back to getting excited about going to the vet. She was a very smart dog.

Good morning folks.

Tweeze, so your strange eye cells brought you to Pelican. Pelican changed my life some by getting me confident enough to replace the suspension on my 911. When I saw my 911 on jack stands with no front suspension I wondered what I had gotten myself into.

Rick V 09-28-2013 07:28 AM

Well that was interesting. Someone drove past my house and fired one single shot down through my lot into the woods. This was obviously an attempt to drive the monster buck that lives back there into the field behind my place. Ya aren't allowed to shoot within the town limits, ya aren't allowed to shoot from the road, ya aren't allowed to shoot from a moving vehicle (which I only got enough of a glimpse of to know it was white) and ya damn sure aren't allowed to shoot across my property.
people piss me off

RKDinOKC 09-28-2013 09:02 AM

Sounds gang related. What were their colors, cammo?

Rick V 09-28-2013 10:54 AM

Could have been red for the redneck
could have been white for white trash
dunno

Should I be a pirate for Halloween instead of a Chia Pet Tweeze?

:) that's a good story, Glen. And yes, my funky eye cells brought me to Pelican. I even remember when I joined. It was late at night. I was doing night shifts IV pump classes at a small hospital in Grand Junction, CO, a town that only had one stop light at the time. I was following the advice of a friend who said if I was considering restoring a Porsche, I needed to join a car forum. So, I did a search on google and read all about Pelican and signed up. I didn't even know about off topic until I had been on Pelican for some time. Once I found it, I never left. ;)

Rick V 09-28-2013 11:17 AM

OT is the only place I visit here. I dropped the tech forums because I grew tired of being told I was wrong about things I have already done.
The final straw for me was when I got into an argument with someone who works for Pelican over a concern with a BMW. I said it was the oil/air separator and the Pelican said it was the head gasket. Well the car was fixed for around a hundred dollars, with the OAS and I am still waiting for the acknowledgement that I was right from the Pelican member. After that I just kept my wisdom to myself and left the tech side. I only help people who ask for help to me directly.

My wife informed me last night that my MIL is flying in this afternoon to visit with us for a week. Granted I'm out of here on Tuesday on a business trip for the rest of the week. But what should I do to deal with my overbearing MIL in the interim?
