That'll be a fun little project

I also got a nice autograph for Rick's wife. I happened to be walking to a booth I wanted to visit as I was texting Rick. He suggested I visit the boot where a certain guitarist hangs out and get an autograph for Beth. I usually don't do the autograph thing, but I figured that Phil would recognize me and it would be okay. Well, that was the booth I was heading to. I got a pic with Phil and asked for an autograph - to which he assumed was for me and signed one to me. I kind of mentioned that I was really looking for an autograph for a friends wife... He was kind enough to sign another for me. :D

What really surprised me, was that the owner of the company recognized me and chatted me up for a few minutes and proudly showed off his newest amp. This was the guy that reluctantly let me into his shop a couple years ago to study Les Paul's and ultimately brought out his real '59 for me to look at and hold and subsequently told me I could call him anytime if I needed dimensions for other guitars - a real, real honor. I have not seen him since the NAMM last year.

Yes, I had called him in '11 to ask him if I could drop by and after mentioning what I was doing, he almost hung up on me. It's a taboo subject. When I met him in person, I brought my then incomplete LP for him to look at and show how I am not trying to defraud Gibson or private buyers. The only reason I actually was able to talk to the owner, was because of my name. Over the phone, it carries some weight in the music industry. :D

I thought the Masons where just stone cutters and/or weirdos with funny hats and secret handshakes. Now your telling me your Rock Gods as well? :D

Ha! No. Just riding the adrenaline wave. I'm not going to make it back to NAMM later. I have a blister on my heel half the size of pinky. I'm going skiing Tuesday morning - assuming weather is good. NAMM = fun, skiing = well, it has to be done....
