Speaking of thread, that's how much was holding on the tip, apparently. |
Putting a staple through ones thumbnail is a joy too. Pulling it out really sucks.

A treble ganged hook from one of these, stuck in my calf was no fun either

Oh yeah. I was fly fishing one time and a branch behind me kept catching my fly, so instead of taking a few steps to my left, I just moved my right hand to the left a bit. Not a good thing. I ended up hooking my let cheek (face, not ass).
I also ended up with a good sized hook in my thumb. Fun times! |
Always wanted to learn to fly fish. I have my Grandpas old fly rod - no other tackle managed to head my way after he passed, just the rod.
That barra lure tried to flip me out of the boat when it grabbed my calf. Scary stuff - bloody big crocs in that water I was fishing in. |
Wow, Dave. That's straight out of Something About Mary. Only without Cameron Diaz.
|
Fly fishing is great fun. More skill required.
|
Not if you bring dynamite.
|
I feel left out. I have no fly fishing stories. My hair did catch on fire on a Bunsen burner in microbiology... Even with my hair pulled back. Talk about nerdy.
|
Hmm. I don't think I've had any part of my body (or clothing) catch on fire before.
But in HS science we used to turn the alcohol burners upside down, write our names in cursive on the benches, and then light the benches on fire! |
Hydrochloric acid, jeans, and skin. Ouch.
|
I have some gnarly pics around here of some welder whose pants caught on fire and toasted his legs pretty badly...
|
I've lit someone else's pant leg on fire before.
I've also caught my hand on fire. Lighter fluid, petroleum jelly and the minds of two young kids trying to create stunts for home movies. Then there was the time I blew my hand up and ended up in the burn ward, but I've mentioned that one before. |
Note to self hide the flammable stuff if Dave visits.
