Give em time tweeze...

Noah930 03-01-2013 11:05 PM

Tuesday might be a little difficult (or not), as I'm up in beautiful bucolic Bakersfield that day. It's about 80 miles north of Olive View. It might be a shortened Bakersfield day, though, so I might be able to bolt by 2 or so. Wednesday is my OR day. I'm in Encino. BTW, you realize that Olive View is no where near UCLA--it's just their university affiliation.

slodave 03-01-2013 11:07 PM

Hi.

I'm here all next week, short of the time I will be in the air a few days next week. But that should be during the day.

slodave 03-01-2013 11:21 PM

Hehe. I think Blue Dog is more for the local, SO crowd. Lets think of something else.

BTW, Mike is about 8 miles from me. And yes Mike, why haven't you called!

slodave 03-01-2013 11:26 PM

And for those who are not on FB. Here's what it looks like at night, in the air, when your instrument panel lights go tits up.

It's also fun at the last 5-10' to try and land a plane that has no working landing lights.

Noah930 03-01-2013 11:28 PM

Well, you're not into sushi unfortunately. (The Valley's got great sushi, Tweeze.)

There's a Mexican place (can't recall the name) by Ventura & Laurel. Not the Loteria Grill (which I like), but in the shopping mall with the Ralph's on the NW corner. There's a place on Ventura (and Kester?) named The Something-or-other Peasant (can't recall what that Something-or-other descriptor is). There are nice, grown-up restaurants that I'd go to with my parents. (Are we grown-up enough to go to those places by ourselves?) There's Oliva (Italian) on Van Nuys. If Tweeze can give us a genre, we can find a place.

Noah930 03-01-2013 11:30 PM

Good to see you flying, Dave.

slodave 03-01-2013 11:32 PM

Actually... I do like sushi. :)

Oliva is a great restaurant! Two of the blonde servers are cute as well. :) I was just there a couple of weeks ago. There is Rive Gauche in SO, had dinner there last weekend, but it is pricy (Entrees are $20 and up).

Noah930 03-01-2013 11:36 PM

Hmm. I pass by Rive Gauche everyday and have never gone... I'm a big fan of Oliva. And for sushi I like Katsuya and Kiwami.

slodave 03-01-2013 11:38 PM

I've only been to Nobu out here. Last time I ate sushi, I was in Aspen.

slodave 03-01-2013 11:41 PM

I'm all for Oliva. They make a great carbonara (not on the menu :) ).

tweezers74 03-02-2013 01:00 AM

Yay! I get a response! And yes, Noah, I know UCLA olive view is nowhere near UCLA. I've googled it. :) That's how I knew it was near Mike. I fly back home Wednesday night. Quick trip. No worries if you guys can't make it. Like I said, I know it is a school night. :)

All suggestions are good. Told you, I am a foodie so I will pretty much eat anything. If we go, pick something you guys like and is easy for you guys.

Yay! Excited to meet a couple more Pelicans!

slodave 03-02-2013 01:05 AM

I guess I really need to get the battery charged in the 911. Wanna drive it?

* There is a unintentional catch. If you are shorter than me, it's not going to work. My racing seat is on the original sliders, but we mounted it wrong and all the way forward is perfect for my height.

Jim Richards 03-02-2013 02:40 AM

Hi Dave! SmileWavy

Rick V 03-02-2013 03:35 AM

Morning Y'all
I had to drive my buddies Boxster yesterday and he has a fixed racing seat all the way forward. that was not even close to cool

That is why our pilot has four flashlights in his flight bag. :)

GH85Carrera 03-02-2013 04:52 AM

Howdy folks. Only 18 dog toys on the living room floor. The dogs are slipping.

Rick V 03-02-2013 04:55 AM

Morning Glen. What your dogs are slipping in my grandkids are making up for

RKDinOKC 03-02-2013 05:02 AM

About the time I think a dog toy is used up and needs to find the garbage receptical she drags it out of her toy basket and spends 30 minutes gnawing on it.

Tried on several occasions to teach her to pick them all up and put them back in the basket, but she just doesn't seem to grasp the concept. When she picks up a toy, she just wants to gnaw on it some more.

RKDinOKC 03-02-2013 05:16 AM

I thought ARGO was supposed to be a good movie. I fell asleep about 20 minutes into it.

Guess there just weren't enough explosions or car chase scenes.
