so Jeff, we have gone from having the heaters on one night to having the AC on the next, weird weather, it is winter, then it is summer!
|
finally got a second hand front licence plate mount, so Marilyn will be "legal" and have a plate on the front and on the back, have been driving around with only one, haven't been pulled over in her yet, but did get pulled over in the Dodge, and told to put a plate on the front. Neither car has had them before.
|
have to go and get some self tapping screws and a few rubber washers etc to mount it now.

speaking of olives, I am still looking for some nice ones here, they are really really realy really really salty so far the ones that I have tried.
Still haven't found any anchovy stuffed olives, they are my favourites, got feta stuffed, capsicum stuffed, almond stuffed, garlic stuffed, but no anchovy stuffed, have to keep trying olives until I find some that I like. I buy some and struggle through yuk ones until they are all gone, then go buy some more. One thing that is really hard to find here is a deli, not just a good deli, just a deli, they don't have them at all that I have been able to find. I think this is how Oz will look in about 10 years, the smaller deli type shops will have been sent to the wall with companies like Coles and Woolies and we will only get left with their version of a delicatessen, meat counter. |
It's all a bit odd? We haven't run the swampy for more than a week. 30ishC during the day and low teens at night. Two night ago we had to run the split in the bedroom just to get to sleep.
The change from winter to summer was real sudden here last year also. We've still got another 6 to 8 weeks before it'll get real cold. Right now though, it's perfect for the flies...sticky little bastards! |
The Sicilian's are not very salty, more sweet really. They didn't over power the dish at all. Really enhanced it if anything.
You think you'd be able to find a Providore somewhere around you over there? I'm guessing you've googled for one? |
I've never licked a Sicilian... :)
|
smiling,...
:) :) :) Janet that was a very good post! Very quick for this hour of the day, just having my first cuppa coffee for the day, and sitting down to start some work. |
Providore!!
yeah right, battling to find a decent slice of bacon over here, here they just have bacon tails, no eye, makes for very fatty bacon with not much meat, and if I ask the yanks about a decent slice of bacon with the eye still in it they looked at me like I'm mad!!! Although I must ask Rick where he got that piece of bacon he posted a picture of a few months ago, the one that looked like a rabbit or a swan. Now that is bacon and still has the eye fillet in it. So if he has a supplier, when we go down for the Stijn Run to Virginia, I will be taking an esky and bringing some home!! That's for sure!! |
Morning Janet.
Have a good day everyone, snoring time for me. Night Y'all. |
I think you have to ask for Canadian bacon to get an eye or short cut.
|
yeah but canadian bacon is Just the Eye, nothing else, no at around it or nothing more like corned beef anyway.
Night Jeff, good snoring!! |

I am so ready for spring. I want to leave my coat at the dry cleaners and then put it away for the year. |
Rain rain and more of the same for the week.
Morning all. |
Yup rather odd it being I'm the 60s early in the day. A bit muggy and still though.... Feels like storm weather. It's definitely that time of year. Just a matter of figuring out if it will be a stormy year or a mild year... It's definitely feeling bumpy with all the up and down this year.
|
lets hope that it is a slow year for the big winds in your area.
|
I've licked both a Sicilian and a Canadian, back when I was in college.
|
Ah yes, college. Those were the days.
