Morning Jim.

Is it nap time yet?

Jim Richards 07-23-2013 06:10 AM

Oh hell yes! I didn't sleep well last night, so the thought of nap-time sounds wonderful! Too bad the activity that pays me conflicts with nap-time. :(

RKDinOKC 07-23-2013 07:20 AM

Tan Line Tuesday...

Not necessarily true. Hubs rode a gixxer1000 and I rode a gixxer750 when the first kiddo was born. His uncle owns a dealership so we always had toys but, then the kid came along and we had no time to ride and a new responsibility to not die. I got on the 1000 a few days after #1 was born and we sold them both shortly after.

Hi Janet.

Yep. It would kind of suck if Mom & Dad augured it in playing with their toys, leaving little ones to take care of.

I agree to a certain extent. Yes, I had to curtail a lot of extracurricular activities back once the boys came but as I see it, temporarily. Secondly, I get the high risk stuff and not dying as an advantage of staying away from these activities but in some ways there has to be a balance. If I were that freakishly paranoid, I shouldn't drive at all. I snowboard, but I don't do crazy tricks in the parks. I surf but I do longboard and just cruise, no tricks. When I was saving for a motorcycle, I made the rule that I wouldn't ride at night and I would only do early morning weekend rides. Everything is a calculated risk. I want to teach my boys to live life and never give up on the things they enjoy so why would I do that to my significant other or myself?

Like D said, his wife doesn't like him without his motorcycles. Why? I would like to bet it is because she knows how happy it makes him. If it was that important to you, your significant other would understand. If not, then I would have to wonder if I was with the right person. If anything, I see my boys already wanting to do some of the stuff I do and I can't wait to spend a lot of time doing things together!

Evening Y'all.
I am not allowed to have a bike (I think I have mentioned this a few dozen times) but all else is fair game. Beth likes that I have my toys. A bit ago I was thinking about selling Lanna and mentioned it to Beth who flipped the F out on me.
I guess she is here to stay. (the car that is)

GH85Carrera 07-23-2013 02:32 PM

The heat index is 107!

I must be a dedicated 911 owner. A friend of mine has a shop and he will let me put my car on a lift to do an inspection. I just want to see if I can find the (expletive deleted cuss words profanity swearing bad thoughts) oil seep. It is not a full fledged dripping on the floor leak, but I must have missed something.

It is astonishing but somehow I must have made a mistake. I thought I made a mistake once before but I was wrong.

It will be hot over there but it is so much easier to look around under a car on a lift.

Rick V 07-23-2013 02:36 PM

If the oil doesn't hit the floor it isn't a leak

Jferr006 07-23-2013 03:59 PM

Mostly, it's a hassle to get riding time in with small children more than anything. There will be time when they are older and preoccupied with their own activities for us to ride.
Besides I'm much more likey to survive a fender bender in a car than some jackass running into me while im on bike. It is inherently more dangerous because of other drivers.
It's impossible to anything risky but, impracticality and risky together at some point just don't make sense.

Jferr006 07-23-2013 04:05 PM

Besides, we are constantly picking up new hobbies. We boat now, still a little risky but we can do it as a family. We miss riding but, there are things to fill the void until its practical again. It was a joint decision, not either of us demanding the other stop.

I would hardly consider either of us lame non-risk takers. :)

You mean I have got to keep paying for sheeeeet, I will never be able to retire at this rate!!!!!!!

I am defs going to be encouraging my boys to elope, will even give them a car to do it. but not any of the Porsches lol

Have encouraged the eldest already, given him two quite capble cars that would get him far enough away to consider eloping as an option, lol

Thought about blowing things up as a hobby. I always enjoyed blowing up ant hills, all my models, soup cans, and coffee cans on the 4th of July as a kid. But, the club meetings too difficult to find and even though I have the beard I just don't like the idea of wearing a towel on my head.

azzarule 07-23-2013 04:30 PM

now that was funny Richard, hope the NSA wasn't watching, lol

Bugger! Winter has come back. It's a bloody cold 9C with a lazy wind...Brrrrrrrrrrr.

Evening Y'all SmileWavy

I used to ride a chook chaser (XR250) to work, that was over 20 years ago. One day maybe I'll have another, maybe a road bike this time. One day I'll get my bike license too I suppose.
