Cold day here today, going for a top of 33C. Even had 2.5mm of rain last night. Only crook thing is that the humidity has climbed to 53%.

It should be nice for golf this arvo, unless the thunderstorms they've predicted arrive. Then it could get real interesting swinging a club.

She seems to have frozen her buns off.

Welll.... I popped off and bought a pickup today... A buddy of mine had the tranny go out on his '04 Chevy z71. He decided to get a new ride, and the dealer offered 1500 trade. I told him I'd go 2k on it... Going to fix it and then hopefully I can make a decent amount on a flip.

Jim Richards 11-14-2014 05:57 PM

Good for you, Sid! I love pickup trucks, and I'm sure you will, too.

We're bugging out in the morning. Bummed about that. This trip was kind of wacky. We were planning on installing prehung interior doors for the bedrooms. Didn't do that. We were planning on installing a closet organizer in the entry closet. Did that. We weren't planning on chasing down and fixing electrical problems in the garage, including tearing into walls, running new wires through them and up through the attic, and patching the walls. Did that. We were planning on taking the garage queen for a long drive with plenty of twisties. Did that. We weren't planning on taking Lu to the urgent care center today to stitch up a long deep cut in her forearm. Did that. did I say that I'm bummed about leaving here?

Oh yeah, Lu's fine. Five stitches and a tetanus shot and she's as good as new. She'll be a lot more careful with the utility knife (uses single edged razor blades) from now on. :)

Warning not user servicable or no suits, must wear hard hat, coveralls, and carry big ars wrench? Found on bag with electrical connector in it.

Jim, I know I love trucks... Where I'm from most boys are born with a gun in one hand and the keys to a 4wd truck in the other! ;) Dad has 3 on the place right now. ;) I don't have much use for one or a place to store it in AZ or I would have one already. This was just too good a deal to pass up. Hopefully I can get it fixed and double my money. We shall see... ;)

Bummer on the trip. I hate projects that seem to go backwards at times! And keep Lu away from sharp objects from now on. She might cut you next! ;)SmileWavy

I wouldn't want to leave socal either. I'm ready to GTFO out of OK. Its cold with snow on the way. Not my idea of fun. Its nice seeing mom and dad, and knowing that mom is doing good, but I HATE cold.

HHI944 11-14-2014 09:20 PM

slodave 11-14-2014 09:29 PM

Curious to see how the Cayenne does in adverse winter driving conditions. The Rover did great. Should do well, very comfortable with the low temps so far. Has a rest feature on the HVAC that keeps the heater going using the latent heat in the block to keep the interior warm when parked. Works at 28°F for the 45 minutes it takes me to walk the isles at the grocery store or eat at a restaurant.

According to the Owners Manual there is an option mine does not have to run a gasoline fired heater to keep the interior warm for hours until it gets down to the reserve level on fuel. Has settings for separate temp settings and how long to operate unattended. Not sure what the fuel consumption is though.

Talked to my mechanic and he says some 356 and older 911 had the gasoline fired heater option. Says people didn't run them often enough so they got gummed up and didn't work well. Says serviced them at beginning of winter like servicing A/C at beginning of summer now.

The boys are stepping out tonight. Kicking off at the caasino in about 20 minutes. Check ya round like a rissole. ;)

If you would like a 2015 Calendar with 928s on it, you can order them here.

Morning Y'all
My brain hurts. School was not so much of a snooze since the "bug boxes" were all malfunctioning and following through the diagnostics took us off of the designed curriculum. Was no matter to me or the guy I was working with but the instructor was having fits.
So we had to be wrong in order to be right and not get the correct answer that they were looking for.
Oh and it is cold and I can't move my head to the right

pete3799 11-15-2014 04:26 AM

Put me down for a mosquito bite Mondays calendar Richard.

azzarule 11-15-2014 04:53 AM

not going outside.

azzarule 11-15-2014 04:57 AM

it looks sunny, but I am sure it is just trying to trick me.

A plus for today is that the man came and fixed the HVAC so have got heating at least, although it doesn't as nice as the fireplace.

Made a kick ar5e green Thai Curry yesterday to take to a work function tonight, sadly vegetarian since I said I would do the vegan one for a whooze at work, but everyone will get to eat it not just the whooze. Also made some great looking Naan Bread and Poppadoms so when the heating guy came it smelled like a restaurant!!

azzarule 11-15-2014 04:58 AM

about to start making Lamingtons to take as well.

Might have to take some photos of the finished products and make y'all feel hungry.

Anway, time for breakfast, and first coffee of the day.

azzarule 11-15-2014 05:02 AM

Jim, when we did our reno, I did go to emergency several times, cut myself really badly several times, and impaled myself on a nail as well , that took months to heal, kept tearing it open as it was just above the knee, renos are dangerous!!

Hope Lu is okay and not toooooo traumatised, she might not want to go back. PTSD!

Jim Richards 11-15-2014 05:46 AM

PTSD? Hahaha! Just moments ago, Lu banged her leg on the opened dishwasher door and is rubbing the spot she hit. I guess for a wife, I got a scratch & dent model. :D :D :D

Sid, best wishes to you Mom in her fight with BC. SmileWavy

Oh yeah, I wanna stay here!!!

Good morning folks. Richard VW used the gas heaters long ago as well. Back in the 70s my dad had a VW 411 had he loved the gas heater. He could go outside and fire up the heater and not even start the car and it would defrost the car in short order. My brother's 74 VW camper van has one as well. When camping it is great to warm up the van before getting out of the sleeping bag.
