Um Brent, I think I kinda claimed the redheads here a couple of years ago

porsche4life 12-22-2014 01:45 PM

I usually hate white cars... But the list of mods on this would make me over look that...
17k-Mile 2001 BMW M3 Dinan Coupe | Bring a Trailer

someday I will own and M3, and a well modded e46 would fit the bill nicely... ;)

Jim Richards 12-22-2014 02:03 PM

Hate white cars? WTF, Sid? Next you're tell us you hate Aubergine, too? :p

So, is Kryptonite bad for you?

Yeah!!!! Beth managed the time off so as long as I can get someone to feed my kitties and make sure the little one gets his meds we are good to go. Beth wants to take the northern route and invade Glen's place one night. This is all weather dependant. We leave on the first.
Yes Richard I told Beth to make sure we have some jerky, she thinks you might be a little insane but jerky is good so we have nothing to lose

Just give me a rough ETA and we will be ready.

Rick V 12-22-2014 02:48 PM

You have a PM Glen

RKDinOKC 12-22-2014 03:18 PM

I am not ruling out the question of my sanity, but gnawin on jerky wakes me right up.

Also like to listen to unabridged books while on the road, especially if on a route done dozens of times. Melts the miles. If the book is good, find myself trying to rush the pit stops to get back on the road and listening to the book. Just set the cruise, keep it between the lines, and listen.

Rick V 12-22-2014 03:32 PM

Beth and I did the audio book on some road tip once, I don't remember the trip or book

Outback Porsche 12-22-2014 03:43 PM

I like snakes and sour worms for road trips.

I was thinking the the 26000 mile trip may have put you here for a night or two?

RKDinOKC 12-22-2014 04:04 PM

You gotta make sure the book is unabridged, ie. read word for word and not shortened. The abridged books put me to sleep.

Rick V 12-22-2014 04:07 PM

I think we are going to skip the book on disc. If I was by myself sure but Beth and I have a great time on trips.

The modern conception is trending further and further away from this. Without existing conditions or predispositions, heavy lifting, combined with proper cardio and a decent diet, is proving to be a pretty solid lifestyle. There's a recent study showing that muscle mass is a good indicator of longevity.
A lot of the cardiac issues attributed to weight lifting involved routines with nearly no cardio exercise and white fish/chicken based diets lacking in fatty acids/aminos vital for cardiovascular health.

Obviously, there are exceptions, that's just life. Heck, it's not uncommon to hear of ultra-marathon runners, people in absolute peak physical condition, just dropping dead one day.

Besides, we've all got to go one day....

i'd love to see that study.

the issue isn't the diet, so much, it is the extreme strain placed on the blood vessels of the heart, leading to premature failure of those vessels.

Jim Fixx is enough proof for me to not worry about activities causing death

nynor 12-22-2014 04:25 PM

heavy smoker, congenitally enlarged heart, severe arteriosclerosis, amazing he lived as long as he did.

RKDinOKC 12-22-2014 04:29 PM

Jack Lalanne, THE proponent of healthy diet and exercise, started one of the first gyms, died of pneumonia at 97.

Rick V 12-22-2014 04:33 PM

Jim Fixx was a marathon runner and dubbed the healthiest man on the planet, dropped dead of a heart attack

Muscle Mass Beats BMI as Longevity Predictor - Scientific American

Not the old atrial dissection BS... .yeah, it happens..... To people with predisposition or preexisting conditions. I haven't seen Amy modern, reputable studies indicating a higher ROI in individuals with healthy CV systems.
And hypertrophy is not always a symptom of disease, it's a natural, physiological response.
