Ewe...Sounds like there may also have been a contest between you and her on facial hair.
And, Oh yeah, forgot about the ranch/mansions on the other side of I-35. |
No she was a not a beast at all. Very pleasant and she has a nice personality.

Local Exchange really isn't too bad. I find most cloud hosted stuff to be on the crappy side but especially the MS. stuff. OUr CEO always wanted to go the the "cloud" and I always said no. Now we have a new CEO. We might have to get a new Director if IT as well. I had a phone interview with the UW people. We will see how it goes from here. |
This morning was the 3rd and worse mailware virus since we have moved to exchange on-line's "protection" AND the network guy refuses to lock down port 25 on our network so we are getting all our IPs blocked including the network connection to exchange on-line. There is no reason why ANYTHING except the on-site relay server should go out port 25 and then only to exchange online.
Oh well, all I can so is say I told you so. Maybe some day they will listen to the guy that has been doing email and network security since 1991! This last virus also sent itself as an email attachment .zip file to everyone in the guys address book, and I had told him to shut his computer down when it first started and he didn't. Now the President of the company has had to issue a direct order to shut down your computer if you recieved an email from the first guy and contact the IT department. Yikes. = |
Oh great. Instead of just shutting down their computer and calling IT, they are shutting down their computer and turning it back on!!
It amazes me how many Morons their are in this world. |
Richard, when it comes to computers there are more morons in the world than not. Especially in the corporate world.
Sounds like your firewall guy is just too lazy to lock it down and just open what is needed. |
|
Firewall guy thinks he needs to leave port 25 open so guests and contractors can access their email. I think he fits in the group I mentioned earlier. Told him that's what the guest network is for. Heck, if you are on residential cable internet you cant access port 25 outside the network. Watch a cox cable repair person, they don't use email, they use their CELL PHONE! My mail server also accepts client connections to send email on port 2525 so my users can send email from ANYWHERE. Like I said, I've been doing this for a very long time.
I know, I know, the moron thing is an irritation to those with well above average intelligence. My brother took me to lunch as president of the company and told me...It's not what I say or how I say it. but I make people feel stupid. I don't know how to fix that. |
It has long been said you can't fix stupid.
I remember one of the cartons on here. When you are dead you don't know it but it effects everyone around you. When you are stupid it is the same. |
But they act like it's my problem that they are morons.
|
Well, actually it is your problem even if it isn't your fault.
Want to co-write a book? Dealing with Morons for Dummies. For them to read, not the people on here. |
Thinking of getting something from REI for closing the day after Thanksgiving. Not sure what I need from them though.
|

They are closed for the day after Thanksgiving so the employees can get outside is what eh press release said.
I hunt that day, but not for bargains. So much more relaxing to do for having to get up that early. |
There is no product AT ALL from any source that can get me to the mall from now to February. Only exception is going to the movies at the mall for the Sunday morning matinee. The other stores are not open so only movie goers are there.
|
None of the local theaters here are in a mall. Got lucky there.
We don't have a local REI here but there is one in Madison. Will have to make it a point to get up that way. |
REI has a good website. Checkout the outlet aide. Lots of good deals! I love REI!

The two biggest malls in our area both have multiplexes. The one where we sometimes go has an Imax which is cool. A movie in 3D and Imax sound and visuals is just a step way above a regular movie experience. Like the difference from HD TVs over the old NTSC standard.
We also go to a local standalone movie multiplex over by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum (everyone locally just calls it the Cowboy Hall of Fame.) They changed the name to add the word museum in the title to become an internationally accredited museum. That is a really neat place. |
Speaking of IMAX, we're going to the Air & Space Museum to see a movie on the big screen on Halloween, instead of contibuting to childhood obesity / diabetes.
