David, maybe you need a rally car until construction season is over.
Richard, this whole distribution groups thing here is driving me crazy. They just went and updated, added, removed a bunch and then complained that some were removed just as they requested. Monday will have a new policy and no one is touching them from now on. Especially the dynamic groups that pull from multiple OUs. Told my boss I wish I had spent an extra week off. |

Yep, 365 started allowing users to make their own server side groups. It has gotten crazy on that stuff as well. People are making their own groups, then complaining when they don't send to whom they are supposed to and don't get updated. I tell them they made their own group and I can't manage it for them. If they want a group, send me the list of people and what the group is for. Then I will send the back the group name. Then if they want any updates they submit a help ticket like for anything else.
We have also kept the Teams stuff turned off. That is a whole nuther can of group/skype/sharepoint/onedrive worms in the name of user colaboration that basically has no administration. |

Richard, I am glad I get to make some of those policies to protect users from themselves. Especially ones that don't understand how stuff works and send an email to let you know the email isn't working.

Woo hoo, it's 11am here, I can go get some Lunch!
Yep, I try, there are some people you just can't completely stop from trying to do their own thing. Especially a specific new server admin that doesn't know what he is doing. Laughing a lot lately because he and the new VP of IT are are going thru deleting groups and have no idea why they are there. There is a lot of stuff people are losing access to. Recently our VPs decided they want all of the exscutive assistants to have Reviewer access to their calendars. Set it up from day one that Anonymous access is Reviewer access. So the assistants have always been able to just open the VPs calendars |
lunch? you tease you!

I’m ready for breakfast!
|
Hit the ground running...missed breakfast.
|
If I miss breakfast I hit the ground with a splat.

Sammy, that song only took me about 5 seconds to get sick of it. Just terrible, terrible.
The bosses wife came in and forced me to take her to Sam's and buy her lunch. $3.03 for two people to eat is almost within my budget. Then we bought $75 worth of fruit. It is sad that the local grocery stores don't have fruit department as good as Sam's. The fridge is stocked now and we have fresh peaches, and blue berries and black berries, and much more. |
"Hey you. Yeah you work bee stay out of the fridge and get to work"
|
Making a splat sounds like Pepper gets scolded for not waking me to let her out.
I just made the mistake of looking at my email before I got some breakfast and had to put some fires out. Making up for it by ordering Chinese delivery. Spicy Mongolian Beef, Egg drop soup, Crab Rangoons... Spent more than $3.03. Expect to get more than one meal out of it. Well okay, another meal an hour later, then another an hour after that. |
That Rebecca chick looks like she gots a big ol black bugger hangin out of her nose. Black last name does not help any. At least she tried to use autotune unlike that new Yoko Ono and the crappy sax noise. Maybe they could try doing a trio thing, or add someone banging on a garbage can and make it a quartet.
The guy on the trombone with the kid banging the oven door are professionals by comparison. And they were smart enough to keep their interlude very short. |
We always vote via absentee ballot. No waiting in lines, and it only cost the cost of the 2 oz stamp, which is 68 cents. It requires the envelope the ballots are put in be notarized. The bank we use for the business account is just 3 blocks away. That is why we picked them. They are almost never busy, and on Fridays they have a plate of cookies, dang good cookies next to the coffee and free water and pens. I was going to go up there yesterday, and I decided to wait just to get a cookie for voting! Chocolate chip. Yummy.
The teller that does it knows me now. She is the one I used to set up the bank transfers for buying the 182. And I have had several ballots notarized this year. It is nice to walk into a mostly empty bank lobby, have the tellers call me by name and get a free cookie to boot! I can go to my credit union where I have my personal account and get the same free notary service, but they don't have free cookies, and they are ALWAYS busy, and they are one full mile further north. |
a. that's not being lazy
b. smart use of your time c. free cookies!!! Or all of the above. |
For me I just stop in on my way home. Once there was a huge line and I had to wait for two people in front of me to vote, though that particular time one was my wife because I stopped home and drove back the two miles with her.

This year we plan to be on the road to Arkansas on election day. Legit absentee.
The program we use to output customer files in the format they request has some crazy measurement systems. I can output a file to be in the easy stuff, of feet, meters, miles, yards and so on. The goofy stuff is something I wish I could turn off and have hidden to avoid selecting it by accident or just having to scroll past it all. I can't imagine a real burning need for British Chains (Sears 1922 Truncated) or German Legal Meters, Gold Coast feet, grades, (French Angular Units) or Indian Yards. Of course it has every projection ever invented I think. I doubt there is much use for Bipolar Oblique Conic West, Interrupted Goode Homolosine, Winkel Tripel or Sinusoidal. Of course we have the datum to select as well. I hope to have a client request Interplanetary Mars or Pluto. And always Interplanetary Mars 2000 and not the old Interplanetary Mars 1990. Mostly we use feet, inches, and meters and state plane or UTM. |
The polling place is up the street from us. Never busy during the day, when the worker bees have left for work. We’ll still do the mail in ballot.
|
I’ll be in Seattle. Gotta do a mail in
