That is the problem Brent, currently lost access to the place to autocross!!!

flipper35 09-14-2016 12:57 PM

I meant to say had. Some days my head and fingers don't talk so well.

I told my wife if we ever came into a bunch of money I was buying land to put a road course on. Both paved and unpaved.

RKDinOKC 09-14-2016 01:03 PM

Used to say the same thing for a good place the fly R/C planes.

Think they ought to get Street Outlaws producers to close the roads near the commissioners houses and spend a couple of nights "filming."
They are actually racing and don't seem to have a problem with insurance or not having a paramedic.

flipper35 09-14-2016 01:38 PM

I can walk across the road for a great place to fly our planes. The farmer says he has no problem with it and has some nice drainage areas for runways.

I have never seen Street Outlaws. The previews always coma across as a mix of "Pinks" and "American Chopper".

Oh Haha 09-14-2016 01:43 PM

I dig Street Outlaws. Sure, it's a scripted reality show but the cars are bada$$.

Didn't Glen dyno his 911 at one of the shops?

BTW- people who snap their gum in public should be jailed. I was forced to stand in line next to this gal who continued to do that while we were waiting for sign up the kids for gymnastics. An hour and 5 minutes to be exact.

We had a very nice place on a cattle ranch. We had a large flat field of bermuda the club kept mowed. About 12 flying statons. A covered area with the several back benches out of suburbans to sit and relax and socialize (drink beer) when not flying. plenty of parking and an outhouse. Then they put in a tollway and used part of the land the site was on.

A guy bought some land 1/2 mile down the road and built a house on it. Then he started complaining about the R/C noise thinking he would get us shut down. The police basically said the flying club was there first, suck it. Now his house is just 1/2 mile from the traffic noise on the Tollway!

Oh carp. The keys I got for the Turbo are cheap and I may to be able to use them. To get a new key you order it from Porsche providing a copy of the title and a photo id with the same name as on the title. Porsche sends a key that is already cut. Then the car has to be re-programmed with a special code (that also requires title and id) for each car to accept the new key, and recoded for all the other keys as well. The keys I got are not cut. The key blades are blank! That means they didn't come from Porsche.

On my Cayenne S one of the keys broke so I got a replacement. It was $400, $300 for the key and $100 to code the keys to the car.

Only have 1 key for the Turbo and it does not have a remote. Think it is the "Extra" key for emergencies.

Hope I don't end up having to buy new remote keys for the Turbo.

Hurry up and wait - at the doctors office to see how well the back wound is healing. The course of antibiotics seems to be working well from my perspective. Oh, and also need a beryllium test for work.

GH85Carrera 09-14-2016 06:36 PM

Yea, I had Chuck dyno both my 911 and the Elky.

RKDinOKC 09-14-2016 07:22 PM

Dynoed both my 2nd 944 Turbo and the 928 GTS at Chuck's. Did my 928 GTS and BoxsterS at a shop called Midwest Automotive. That's the same name but different location as Chief and Sean's Shop and they were totally into just tuning and supercharging Mustangs back then.

All good from the doc - woohoo http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...artysmiley.gif

RKDinOKC 09-14-2016 07:25 PM

That's great. Glad to hear.

Oh Haha 09-15-2016 03:33 AM

Great news Jeff!

Now, be careful on that new hotrod motorsickle.

GH85Carrera 09-15-2016 04:26 AM

Good over the humpday day.

I did start a thread in the tech forum.

For those of you that are bored and want to see more of my award winning writing. ;)

Oh Haha 09-15-2016 04:34 AM

Glen, would it be helpful if I checked my local sources for that AC Delco coil?

GH85Carrera 09-15-2016 04:37 AM

Sure, if you can find that or any other good replacement for it that is NOT a Silver Bosch or the generic identical Bosch Silver, let me know. I will jump on that like a chicken with a June bug.

Standard Motor Products sells the generic coil. The picture of the coil even says Bosch.

That is the same POS I have two of.

Morning all. Work is really starting to get to me. They want to give me a new job (title) and I'm not sure I want to do it. I need a break from this place.

At my old former job the owner decide I should be called the Production Manager. I was busy as hell trying to get my production done and now he wanted me to watch who was doing what and how well. And of course there was no raise involved with that. It only took me a week to figure out I can't do my production and play mother to all the other employees. And none of the other employees could run my computers or do my production. I had a Mac and 6 PCs a scanner a film recorder and a wide format inkjet printer. Not one of the other employees ever asked to learn about them and I tried to teach em.

Porsche-poor 09-15-2016 07:08 AM

Yep then you know exactly where I'm coming from.

flipper35 09-15-2016 07:50 AM

Glen, what about a pertronix based coil? FBO has some. They are more Mopar but the guy is pretty knowledgeable on stuff.

The HRR/Pertronix Coil will optimize output and reliability at a constant 14.4V. Use alternative coils only in emergency situations.

About 1/3 of the way down. $35.

Forgive the poor web design.
