Why, back in my day if we discovered a friend's door bell did anything other than the standard chime we tested it frequently.

Glen is correct, they use standard doorbells so much in TV shows and commercials it makes it confusing. With my old doorbell there has been many a time I felt I was the victim of a ring and run only to find out it was on TV.

Only RIchard got into it and he declared it great. I will attack it tomorrow. I was still full from lunch. Larry liked it last year so I am sure he will dig in.

Me thinks Chip Juice 2016 was a good year, but then again I think it is good every year. Kinda biased me thinks.

G'day all

My son has come into town for a few days, woohoo

I've been cooking all day - we're having another Christmas dinner tonight with all my kids and grandkids.

Good Hump day morning. Winter is officially here today. I am glad of that because for the next 6 months the days get longer again. I hate driving into work in the dark. So happy Earth axial tilt day.

Mornin'.

Yep, winter hath arriven. It's supposed to get close to 40 today and tomorrow but I'll take it.
I might even wash the truck today. The main roads are dry so it may stay clean for a couple of days anyway.

Hey Jeff, happy first day of Summer!

If you have seen the Monty Python movie the Meaning of Life you will know you don't want to pop from eating. It is pretty gross.

Arrrg. Now I know I shoulda sent the 928 to the guy in CA to do the piston update. They are sending off the MAF and the Brains on the 928. Started running rich, now it's not putting out injector pulses. And there is stuff getting power when the ignition is off like the wipers, etc. they are replacing the ignition. Betting something did not get hooked back up correctly cause both the brains and maf were rebuilt and working when I did the valve job before he tore the engine down. The ignition switch was replaced then too. Thinking 4th of July may be optimistic at this point.

Doe the 928 use the DME Motronic system like the 944 and 911 of the same years?

There are some DME guys that are better than others.

It has two brains, one is the EZK which does all the timing stuff like the DME. Replacing a DME would be easy. My 944 Turbos only had one chip, this has two.

Well, it has all those extra cylinders the 944 does not have so it need twice as many.

Long long ago I remember my buddies Ferrari Daytona engine. It was a 12 cylinder engine of course but it had two of everything. Two distributors with points in each, two oil filters, two coils, two plugs per cylinder and a lot of plug wires and lots of carburetors. Way back in the 70s his tune ups were like $800 bucks. With 24 platinum plugs and the time to swap them all was a lot of the cost.

On the back stretch of Road Atlanta before they put in the kink it that it has now he rolled around the curve and accelerated through the gears but double clutched on every shift and hit 140 and said that is fast enough and coasted the rest of the straight. One week later the Porsche club did the track. I screamed around the corner in my 100 HP 4 cylinder 914 as fast as I could and ran through the gears got int 5th and got to 115 and ran out of room

I figure that extra 8 cylinders he had really did make a difference.

The Ferrari club would rent the track and hire the Porsche club to run the track day for them. With the money we made we would rent the track one week later and do it for ourselves.

I understand that at 120 mph the 914 kind of hits an aerodynamic wall that takes huge amounts of horsepower to go any faster.

Nooo. One of the retired employees at work passed. Every year he gave my brother a tub of Vietnamese egg rolls for Christmas, even after he retired. His wife makes them for most of the really good restaurants in town. He was a really nice guy always had a smile to share. Worked there 30 years before retiring. Has 15 girls.

He also brought enough egg rolls to work at Christmas that 400 employees could each have two or three. There where never any left.

Both he and the egg rolls will be missed.

Not quite at the "better, better get a bucket" stage, but not far off. Managed to sleep, but still feel heavy (don't need any breaky yet ).

BTW, it's been summer for a few weeks now
