We have a local chain that used to be Dick's Supermarket. They had a club card called the insider and printed on the front was Dick's Insider card. They were bought out by Piggly Wiggly and it is Dick's Piggly Wiggly now but they still have the insider card.

I watched the Gas Monkey episode on the El Camino. It was of course just part one. It will be interesting to see what they end up with.

Oh good god, I don't remember eating a dead rabbit raw! Who the hell put that up my clacker?

Not even the dog's around to blame for that one.

Almost like a real person? ;)

Hump day has returned again and can it really be Feb 1st, 2017 already? Dang, I better get something lined up for Valentines day soon.

I do so remember going to see the movie 2001 A Space odyssey way back in 1968 when it came out. We were within a week of moving back to Hawaii and finally get to see my dad after he had spent 18 months on "temporary" duty in Korea. I simply loved the movie but my mom and brother did not understand it at all. I had to explain it to them.

Anyway back then I remember thinking wow, 2001 is so far off and I will be OLD by then. Here is it 16 years later and I have yet to grow up. And I still don't have a flying car!

Andy911sc 02-01-2017 04:29 AM

According to Back to the Future in 2015 we were supposed to have flying cars. I have been lied to as a child...lol.

GH85Carrera 02-01-2017 04:34 AM

Back to the future also predicted the Cubs would win the world series in 2015 and it took until 2016 for that to happen so the movie was not accurate!

Haven't we all?

RKDinOKC 02-01-2017 05:24 AM

As much trouble as we have with road going traffic you want FLYING cars!!!

GH85Carrera 02-01-2017 05:43 AM

Yea, only flying cars for smart people!

I can't imaging how much insurance will go up when flying cars are crashing as often a cars do now. Cars falling out of the sky will leave a mark on the roof tiles.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2017 06:55 AM

Morning all. Today my youngest turns 16.

Gosh, you must be getting OLD! ;)

So the car insurance goes way up now?

Porsche-poor 02-01-2017 07:12 AM

Yep I turn 50 in march. Don't think it will till he gets the important piece of plastic and so far he is one of those kids who just doesn't care.

GH85Carrera 02-01-2017 07:32 AM

That is alien to me. I had a license to drive as soon as I could get one.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2017 07:35 AM

Same here and two weeks after that I had the motorcycle endorsement on it.

Andy911sc 02-01-2017 07:39 AM

What's with kids not getting a license these days. I jumped that ship asap... freedom and girls!

Andy911sc 02-01-2017 07:40 AM

On another note. The standard transmission is becoming the new theft deterrent because less and less know how to drive them.

RKDinOKC 02-01-2017 07:49 AM

Didn't care when I turned 16.

Already had a great transportation network that included girls.
Never did end up awkward when the driver and his/her date took me and my date parking.
Even if it was a first date! And was already in the back seat!

Did get my license before I turned 17 though.
Just didn't care and wasn't in any big hurry.

Probably why I ended up getting my BILs used up 68 Ford Country Squire Wagon for $1 that was dubbed "The Tank."

flipper35 02-01-2017 07:52 AM

I had to wait a day after my 16th birthday to get my license since they weren't open the day of.

I have a year before my oldest is 16. She will learn on the Durango. It is still in good shape even though it has been rear ended twice, had a garage door wrapped around the rear bumper and went through a herd of deer. I did have to have the headlight and fender replaced after the deer. She will have to learn how to drive a manual in the Cobra though since we sold the 911. I suppose this summer I should get a replacement rev limiter in that since the old one crapped out. Not so much for her going fast, it just revs quick when you miss a shift.
