We made the first road trip in the Macan today. 200 miles round trip. The Macan is now up to 960 miles total. It is a quiet and comfortable road warrior. We were getting 28 mpg on the trip.

It's kinda like Porsche makes good vehicles or something.
Don't pay much attention to gas mileage. Can buy a lot of gas for the difference in cost between an older car and a new one that gets better gas mileage. Would be nice to have all the fancy new features though.

Dang, hurry up Monday. I need a rest. This physical labor crap is tiring.
I made three trips to Lowes for parts to get the flowerbeds converted to drip irrigation. Got that process started and now I figure I really need to check the other 90 something spray heads. I can see some are rather Fubar and need to be replaced. Oh and to have extra fun I figured I would mow and edge and then fertilize the yard so it will grow faster so I can mow more often. Off to start the process of making sure all the spray heads are working as I designed.

Ahhh. The good life. At work on Monday morning drinking coffee sitting on my butt in a comfortable chair in front of a computer in a nice air conditioned building. Ahhhhhhh.
I ended up having to dig up two entire heads and replace them. I had several that had clogged filters and were not squirting properly. I bet I have not had to replace two heads in the 18 or 19 years the system has been in place. It has been very reliable. Doing the drip irrigation should not be to hard, but I have underestimated projects before. My wife calls that male optimism. I plan for a 30 minute fix and it takes all day.

30 minutes takes all day? Sounds like you are forgetting to include beer consumption in your estimates.

![]() Male optimism does not affect just me. When the flooring folks cam and put in the new wood floors in the front entrance and hall they were 1/2 a day longer than they estimated it would take. Same for the kitchen counters and the tile jobs in the bathrooms and the new carpeting. All of those were done over a period of many years. She saw the phenomenon at work back when she had a job. No doubt plumbing jobs are the worst. Any simple "10 minute fix" can turn into a complete gut and start over.

My nephew found that if you praise the Mexicans building a house and give them a nice cigar and a snort of good whiskey they disappear in about 30 minutes and don't come back for 2 weeks.

There was a team of Mexicans that replaced our roof. It was HOT and they worked HARD. You can tell they wanted to get it done and get on to the next job. The boss of the crew was there helping clean up and get the last bits done. As they were sweeping up the driveway and mining for nails in the yard with a magnet I offered beers to the boss and the guys still working. They all said thanks and finished up.
Same thing for the pit for my lift. The foreman was there helping sweep up and doing minor things and it was surprising to me since all he had done before was point and tell the crew what to do. After I was ready to go inside he handed me the bill and I figured out he wanted a check. I was happy to pay him. I was so happy I did not try to do the pit myself.

Richard, that seems to be how they publish software now. Push it out and let the world beta test and let them download a patch to fix it. Valve's Steam does pretty good keeping things up to date, even if you don't want it to sometimes.
We have been replacing the garden fence building something similar to this. ![]()

That sucks. Bad weather and sickness should never arrive on the weekend or vacation.

Our bagel likes to chew the ball, our lab likes to play fetch with the ball so she guards it.
Even when she sleeps.

Smart dog. I think I just have been letting to much get to me and I finally gave in. Stress and tension are killers.

Yeoch. The cone of shame. I hope he will heal up and be fine. I suspect he will.
Well the Mrs decided we needed just a touch more soil for the new garden. 12 bags at 40 lbs each so another 480 lbs on the garden. Somewhere in the middle of the Indian ocean west of Australia and south east of South Africa the ocean bottom is likely bulging up. Yea, that's the ticket. Sure. Makes sense. ![]()

No they didn't, but the likelihood of that occuring here is so very remote. Lets say I'd be more likely to win the lottery. The vet did trim the skin a little as it did have a little flap originally.
