Yep, Will have the Cox until 100% positive the AT&T is 100%.
Right now it is wonky.

Put my laptop on the AT&T wifi and it only loads some sites.
Can surf Apple.com but not Pelican forums.
DNS is working can do lookups and get the IPs, but no web site.
My outlook accesses Office365, but not zipbang.

Sure it has something to do with their router.
Just weird that it gets to some and not others.

The hoops I am jumping thru just trying to save $80 a month.

I've even called my friend that worked for AT&T wireless installer tech support for a year.
It was not a very encouraging call. Said it wouldn't let me setup wifi bridges.
He also said it wouldn't let me use my current wifi hardware either.
I have an airport extreme ac base and an airport express wirelessly bridged in each of the bedrooms. Lets me get a full 300mbps data transfer over wireless anywhere in my house.
Can also access management on my phone and turn on and off my guest network really easily.
Do not want bro Bob with his malware prone habits on my private network, even if it is all Macs.

Well...After 2 hours with towel head support (actual spoke understandable english) the AT&T stuff is working. It took that long for him to listen to me as to what it was doing wrong before he could reset the resetup the modem/router. Evidently when they installed the static IP addresses they messed up the settings.

It would have been a LOT less hassle if they would have included the static IPs on the install ticket like they were supposed to and the installer would have made sure it worked before he left.

Still not 100% Confident in the setup on this modem/router. Before, besides wifi it wasn't even routing wired connections.

The frustrating thing is that I had to go throught the support guy's troubleshooting steps and after he had gone thru all his steps and was ready to sent a tech out he actually listened to what I said the problem was and made a couple of changes that looks like it fixed it. If he would have listened in the first place the call would have only taken 15 minutes.

Good Morning.

It's 11°F warmer this morning than it was yesterday morning, but still colder than it takes water to freeze. Forecast is to get up to 52°F today. I like that, at 52 I can go for groceries without putting on long pants.

Had the AT&T tech support call on speaker phone. While on the call Pepper woke up came in and said Good Morning. So I told her good morning and gave her some attention. Then she said I want out. So I told the guy on the phone I would be a couple of minutes because I needed to go let my dog out. He asked if that was my dog that said Good Morning and I want out. I said yes. He said your dog speaks better english than I do. Said yeah, but she can't read or type on the computer. Thought that was pretty funny, LOL. We both got a good laugh out of it. After that he slowed down a little and spoke clearer english.

Morning all.

We went to our favorite breakfast place this morning. Right after we sat down the cute chick waitress asked for our drink order. I thought yea, the cute chick for a change. Our drinks came out carried out by the tattoo covered dude. Dang it.
I will admit, I am prejudiced, I prefer looking at a cute chick way more than some tatted up dude. Even if the chick had Florissant red-orange hair.

Had fried beef balogna, egg, and cheese on a toasted slider bun this morning. There were no wait staff present so it was self serve. In fact, it was DIY cooking as well. They are way understaffed at Richard's Kitchen. But they do come up with some surprisingly good stuff.

Really like the pulled pork, salsa, and provolone omelet. Also recommend the jacked up hash brown fries with egg, green chili's, Monterey Jack cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing (it's really leftover southwestern green chili fries from The Garage, with eggs scrambled in and grated cheese on top, but it's still good).

Stijn!!

Well my money grubbing mean boss had me working all weekend on reprocessing some data that we will be selling soon. That mean greedy bastage will for sure make me work tomorrow.

RKDinOKC 01-15-2018 04:28 AM

Good Morning.

Going to get up to a whole 37°F today by 9am, then it is going to get cooler and windier the rest of the day. So, if going out it's a long pants and jacket kind of day.

Oh, if you want to infect our company with any sort of virus or malware, just have it say it's from Microsoft or Office365. Doesn't matter that they have been told they will never get a legitimate email from Microsoft or Office365. Think these people need their email privileges revoked for a couple of weeks.

I watched a interesting show last night on Mega Machines. It was about the Antonov AN 124-100 cargo plane. They had a set of molds for new windmill blades that needed to get to the client ASAP. The molds were made in Shanghai and the client was in Denver. They started in Russia, flew to Shanghai and loaded up the molds. They only had 6 feet of room left from the length of the molds in the aircraft. It was 390 tons at take off with a full load of fuel and the cargo. They flew non stop from Shanghai to Denver. It was cool to see a Russian crew in Shanghai talking to Air Traffic Control at the Shanghai airport and everyone was speaking English. The language of ATC. The Aircraft has a range of 9,000 miles. I wish they had hinted at the price tag of that cargo delivery. It had to be many millions of dollars.

Many long years ago when the Soviet Union was still around Oklahoma City had a big air show. We had the SR-71 fly in and be on display, the Stealth Bomber, and even the Antonov 124 with a Soviet crew. My boss at the time was on some of the committees in charge for the air show. He was the liaison with the crew. They were a nice group of guys that LOVED to eat. That fit right in with my old boss. He took them to a lot of great BBQ but their real love was Braum's ice cream. The entire crew was blow away with the fact they could each buy their own 1/2 gallon of ice cream, no rationing and they could pick from a zillions flavors. Evey night before they went back to the hotel they wanted to go to Braum's and each of the crewmen got a 1/2 gallon of ice cream.
When they were leaving they bought several large ice chests, and dry ice and loaded it up with all the ice cream they could afford. They certainly had no weight restrictions.

It was cool to take a tour of the 124. They had the front and back loading doors open and we got to walk through it.

I guess the Soviets built a handful of them. We of course have a lot of the C-5s and various other cargo aircraft. We can't haul stuff as big as their 124, but we can haul many time as much stuff with multiple airplanes.

Them are some big aeroplanes for sure. The amazing thing is they can use regular runways.

Porsche-poor 01-15-2018 06:08 AM

Sorta. They needed the entire two miles of the runways to take off and land. Landing at Denver they are of course 5,200 feet altitude. They had to come in faster then they like and it takes a while to slow down. The only place big enough for them to unload was the deicing area. It was summer time so that apron was unused. It is in a remote part of the Denver airport so they had to set up lights and and portable generator for the crew to unload it.

When the landed the wingspan is wider that the distance for the runway lights. They were worried that the wings could hit on of the lights that stand up about a foot.

They kept saying it was the larges "production" aircraft ever.

I'm working today too.

I don't get off for Racial Discrimination Awareness Day.

Porsche-poor 01-15-2018 06:25 AM

I don't think I get another holiday off till May.

GH85Carrera 01-15-2018 06:39 AM

I have worked at small family owned business all my life. I have never had the holidays like MLK, President's day, Veterans day and so on off. Only the major holidays. Now I work whenever I can, and can do whatever I need whenever I need. It still seems weird to be in the middle of the normal work day and be in the back yard doing household chores.

Tomorrow morning is gonna suck. My partner is flying to Denver. He needs to be at the airport at 5:00 freaking AM. We are both thrilled.

Porsche-poor 01-15-2018 06:51 AM

Ick nothing is worth 5am except sleep.

RKDinOKC 01-15-2018 07:03 AM

Yep we don't get another paid holiday until Memorial Day.

Remember when I was growing up we were the only ones on either my Mom's or Dad's side that visited the family cemeteries on Memorial Da, put flowers on the graves and made sure the groundskeepers were doing a good job. After my Dad passed I don't think anyone has taken that torch.

If we don't use two days for Christmas we get good Friday for Easter. 2018 is a 2 Days for Christmas year. Guess as far as the company is concerned Presidents, MLK, and Veterans can hang it.

Jim Richards 01-15-2018 07:19 AM

What is “paid holiday?”

Porsche-poor 01-15-2018 07:30 AM

Its like a Saturday but with money.

And to get him to the airport at 5:00 AM means getting up just after 4:30 AM. I am figuring I will take a shower and eat breakfast after I get back.

Porsche-poor 01-15-2018 07:47 AM

good plan. Oh and see if that rotten boss will let you nap in the afternoon.
