When I bought my first house the city trash pickup was twice a week. The homeowners had to provide their own city approved trash cans. The metal ones would get bent up in no time by the drivers. I was on a Monday and Thursday pickup schedule and it sucked every holiday like MLK or President's day with no trash pickup. They did not do a makeup run since they would be back in the same week, except every Thanksgiving. Always a Thursday and screwed again.
I had Monday only service when the big city provided carts were first used. I have been on a Monday schedule ever since and still. Next month they are changing the pickup schedule. I get moved to Tuesday. No more holidays to worry about except the big ones that are on Tuesday every few years. |
here they just push the pick up day by one day. My pick up day is Friday. Over the holidays it was on Saturday. Not everyone in the neighborhood got the memo.
|
Ok they declined to payout of pocket as I suspected. I'll turn it over to my insurance and let them deal with it.

Just got back. Had a TIA event last night. could not move whole left side no move and slurred speach. Bunch of tests this morning. Can't find a reason for it. They think it is due to blood pressure too low because having me lay flat got everything back within 30 seconds. Still have a slight headache.
|
Well that aint good. I bet Pepper has a hard time understanding commands when slurred!
|
That really is not good. You take care of yourself.

Yep, your insurance company will go after the other guy for payment. They have the resources for that.

Mac has the option when you shut it down of either re-opening apps AND directory windows when it boots or not. Usually have it open Outlook, Web Browser, Cisco VPN and Fusion (Virtual PC). But I do have to re-login the VPN or both the Mac and the Fusion PC.
However, even though booting is fast usually just do the sleep and wake thing and don't reboot very often. It does stuff when it's sleeping like backup itself, and sync/backup my iPhone and iPad. When sleeping it disconnects the VPN and reconnects when it wakes up. If I shut it down I have to re-login to the VPN. Have not yet explored the new features added with High Sierra. Just made sure all the Apps I use were compatible with the new OS version. Talked to my Porsche mechanic about getting enough bucks from vacation buy back to pay him in full for the 928 or have some things I've been putting off getting things fixed up on the Cayenne. Said since he took so long on the 928 he wouldn't have any problem with me fixing up the Cayenne and making payments on the 928 bill when I can. |
Good Morning! Woke up this morning!
It's 8°F outside, feels like 2*F. Forecast is a high of 36°F. The good news, highs for the next week are 50's and 60's. Inside it is a typical 71° and feels like 71°F. |
Yea, it is cold out there. My commute to work was still without a coat. It was 68 in my office when I got all the way down the hall. With the office on the NE corner of the house and just one small HIVAC vent and no return, it gets cold in here this time of year. Our master bedroom has two HIVAC vents and a return. It is the room that is the warmest in winter and coolest in the summer. I just turn on a little space heater near the window to get the temp up in my office.
I got an actual letter in the mail from Cox. They are upping the security and want me to change the port setting on incoming and outgoing email in Outlook. I have personal email accounts that I have had for nearly 20 years. I just have them set up to forward to my work account. My boss encourages that! ;) That way everything arrives for my computer and my cell phone is gets the email as well. It is all synced up so it is much easier. I never bothered to set up the personal accounts on my cell phone. I have 4 personal accounts and 5 if you count the one for my wife. If I want to reply to a personal account I just tell Outlook to use the personal account and all is well. I just changed the port settings. So far so good. |
Yep, Cox wants everyone to use SSL for email.
|
It was an easy change. As long as everything works OK, I will be happy and more secure!
I just got this: This message is from Cox High Speed Internet. Due to excess abandoned webmail accounts, We are currently performing maintenance on our Digital webmail Server to improve the spam filter services in our webmail systems for better online services to avoid virus and spam mails. I am thinking that it is a bit unusual for Cox to use Gmail. |
Ha ha ha, that anti-spam is so 1990's. You can use inactive accounts that are no doubt receiving all spam as spam traps where the email server blocks all emails as spam coming to those accounts for everyone on the server.
Do NOT send them a password!!!! Not even if they have a link to a web login to provide your information and it looks like a cox email and web site. |
I did not send them squat. I just deleted it. I learned long ago to never click any link like that. I log into my accounts in the normal fashion and do any changes or updates then.
