Whew, I escaped from the mall!

We showed up the the Apple Store just a few minutes early. The tech guy got to us just after 11:00 (appointment was 11:00 so about one minute late, not bad) and did the battery test. My battery showed marginal OK, as did my wife's. They went ahead and did the replacement for $29.99 each. I was going to pay with Apple Pay, but they had my phone. So I used my debit card. Oh well, same account.

We had to wait an hour without our phones so we went to lunch. I survived the hour with no withdrawal pains. Then we went to get some Jeans. I am done!

Now I have a project to process and some real work. Gotta keep the boss happy. ;)

The genius bar is much better with their appoints than most doctors. My primary care doc is the only one I have never had to wait longer than 2 minutes. Even if I am early.

My eye doc more than makes up for it. Have had to wait an hour and a half before. 45 minutes before I did the eye chart stuff and get my retinas scanned, then another 45 in a dark waiting room while my eyes were dilating before I got to see the actual doctor.

A guy I work with here went to a doc apt yesterday only to have them look at him like why are you here. Turns out the doc was not in. They clamed to have called both his cell and land line and told him as such. Simple investigation into the matter showed them that they had to wrong phone numbers for both. Let just day he was not to happy.

I can usually be back to work in an hour when I visit my primary. Hour and a half with the eye doc, but he is pretty thorough. I usually have to wait long enough to find something to read and just as I get going, they call my name.

My dermatologist should do lessons on how to run a docs office. It is clockwork. If the appointment is at 10:00 they ask you show up at 9:45 to fill in the paperwork, pay the co-pay, and update insurance cards and so on. Go sit down and almost always before the actual appointment, you go to the exam room. The nurse ask the same routine questions as always and asks if there is any specific spots you want him to look at. She leaves and tell me to strip to my underwear, no socks. Doc comes in, looks me over, inevitable zaps a spot on my face or neck. Says see me in 12 months or sooner if I have a problem. I get dressed and out the door usually about the time of my original appointment. Done.

I think they overbook the greedy 5ons of l3itches.

Ok, this is part of the work we do. Look close. These are two images of 18 that cover this little tiny area. It was a large plus sign, white panels on the ground. For whatever reason cattle love to eat the targets. If you look at the images you can see a cow or more likely a steer and the shadow makes it easier to identify. The bovine is just a black shape of a cow looking straight down. The ground target is destroyed. The little blue circle is about where the center of the target should be.

RKDinOKC 11-15-2018 09:05 PM

Seems like ya could coat or spray them panels with somethin them aminals find discustin, dead aminals, poop, skunk stinkum. Or maybe all three, road kilt skunks!.
Wouldn have ta be overpowerin, just a hint so they don't chew on em.

Chew Resistant Aerial Geolocation Markers.

Make em out of paper that disolves after a few weeks...

Eco Friendly Biodegradable Chew Resistant Aerial Geolocation Markers. They don't have to go back and pick em up.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2018 05:22 AM

Yea, and just how does one coat a target with anything and not have to carry it in the truck? Cows or more accurately cattle will eat almost anything. And they don't like anything new in "their" pasture. The targets have to be fairly light and transportable, and last through a thunderstorm for at least a week. I am sure you have seen a large white X painted on a roadway, usually on the shoulder of the road. Those are great when there is a road. This project is an almost empty field. The have cattle out there grazing, and the ubiquitous trash pile. It looks like once long ago there may have been a farm house out there, but it just rubble, or the trash pit. Some wealthy couple want to build their dream house on the property. It is a 1/4 section of land, or 160 acres, with two streams running through parts of it. They want to build on the hill. It will be a nice place when done.

Good Morning.

It's
F R I D A Y !

Porsche-poor 11-16-2018 06:01 AM

Good morning all!!!!!! Only working today, Monday and Tuesday. Then I think Glens mean old boss has moved out west and will be whipping me into shape doing %@% $ around the house for Thanksgiving.

RKDinOKC 11-16-2018 06:20 AM

Maybe they just went to the same management training.

Porsche-poor 11-16-2018 06:38 AM

That is a real possibility.

flipper35 11-16-2018 07:16 AM

I have a three day week next week. I have a day of meetings starting in about 45 minutes including one "lunch and learn". Why do I want to give up my lunch hour to do work while I eat? Though I do work through lunch, it is at my own pace.

At least we aren't having a lunch and learn about Outlook etiquette from the person that sent out a bi-weekly meeting invite for the next 18 months, ONE AT A TIME! They are recurring, send a recurring invite. AHHHH.

I responded to the first couple. Ignored the rest.

Porsche-poor 11-16-2018 07:26 AM

depending on the lunch and learn I some times take off early.

flipper35 11-16-2018 07:33 AM

I am taking off early today. I have a snow blower that needs taken out of the shed and put in a garage and I wont have time to do it this weekend.

Porsche-poor 11-16-2018 07:44 AM

is that the safety blanket system? Get it out and ready so you might not ever need it?

GH85Carrera 11-16-2018 07:51 AM

Yesterday when we were at that horrible place, the mall, I did indeed get drug into the men's department to buy jeans. Back in the olden days when I was a youngun, and most stuff was made in the USA, I could pick out a pair of jeans by the size, and just buy them knowing they were that size. Now the foreign factories have very low quality control and a test fitting is mandatory. Nothing more fun than trying on multiple pairs of jeans, well right up there with setting my hair on fire.

Anyway the first pair fit just like they were supposed to. The next two pair had to be mislabeled. They were just way off. One fit around the waist, but were two inches short. And another pair was two inches to small in the waist. I picked out two pair of normal fat boy Levi 550, and got out of there.

As we were looking for the Levis, I happened across some real poser jeans. They actually sell brand new jeans that look like someone took a weed wacker to the front of the legs. Huge rips and frayed holes going sideways across the legs. And the dumbest part, they had actual paint drips and stain marks like someone very sloppy had actually done some physical work, and painted something. Freaking insane. I have LOTS of old worn out jeans, that got that way from real wear and tear. The pockets are worn out, the knees blown out and open, and genuine greas and grass stains from working on a car or mowing the lawn. And the dumbest part, the beat up poser jeans were 60 bucks!

Porsche-poor 11-16-2018 07:53 AM

can you prove that they are not recycled jeans? Wear them till the wife says they have to go then clean and re-sell.

Unfortunately, no. It is the get it out before you need it or you will be really ticked off for having to shovel a path to get the snow blower.
