Maybe so. But these are images purchased by the US Dept of Agriculture for farm surveys. It covers every state in the union, but not every year. Most states only get it flown once every other year or sometimes three years. The really big aerial companies bid for it, and fly it. It takes massive resources to collect a county, and then the next county and eventually the entire state, and country.

It is public domain free imagery. Just finding it, and then having the mapping software to use it is step one. It is all MrSid Gen3 files. I can't image it has much to do with HIPPA. But who knows, it is the government.

If you know the section township and range of your farm or area I can get you a version of the most recent to back to 2003. Google Earth likely has better images, but those are all copyrighted. With money involved, I can find your house or area in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and so on. That is really jumping through hoops to get them, and they are not free.

I can figure out the section township and range from Google Earth locations.

It probably has nothing to do with it, but that is about all I know about them. Like Drop Box but secure.

RKDinOKC 11-30-2018 01:05 PM

Oh...Box won the bid on managing the downloading.

Woo hoo, but not so much. Finished my 365 admin class to make sure I could get current certification. But MS is changing the certification in May. Taking it now would mean I would just have to re-take the exam in May. There is a LOT of new stuff. MS is moving everything around and changing where to do what.

GH85Carrera 11-30-2018 01:21 PM

Yea, change just to change it and sell a new version.

I saw that Microsoft is on the brink of surpassing Apple again as a more valuable company. All based on the cloud and Asure. They actually eclipsed Apple a few time in the day, but at close Apple was still above Microsoft. The article said operating system software is just a small part of the income stream now. Office and cloud is the big thing.

RKDinOKC 11-30-2018 05:38 PM

Walmart beats the both.

GH85Carrera 11-30-2018 07:02 PM

Google is bigger than either of them as well.

GH85Carrera 12-01-2018 06:43 AM

Morning all. We had some thunderstorms last night. Pea size hail. No big deal. Sun is back.

RKDinOKC 12-01-2018 07:10 AM

May goodness of mornings ;effect the rest of your day with positive, uplifting, and yes even joyful experiences.

After the precipitation quieted down went to the corner gas station, convenience store, cleaners, liquor store, car wash to purchase liquid refreshments. All of the 10 or so car wash bays had a car with someone sitting in the car. The clerk had no idea the bays were full. About that time there was some lightening about a mile away. The clerk screamed like a little girl and ducked away from the window. Told him his reaction was silly because he would never see it coming.

The sun can up again. Well actually the earth kept rotating so the sun became visible once again for this part of the planet. It would really suck if the earth suddenly stopped rotating. Everything would fall down, and roll along heating up and turn into a mixed up mass. Mountains, houses and animals.

Jim Richards 12-02-2018 08:42 AM

Buongiorno, y’all. The sun also came up here this morning.

I put up Christmas lights yesterday. The tree still awaits me. Bah Humbug and get off my lawn! ;)

GH85Carrera 12-02-2018 11:01 AM

Way way back in the days when I was first working, and still a High School student, I still lived at home at Maxwell AFB. Dad was just a lowly Lt Col. so we lived in the barracks type condo-houses. The full bird Col and generals each had a NICE Spanish style two story houses and grounds. Most of those houses were decorated for Christmas. Row after row of nice colorful lights, and then one house with 4 foot tall letters, that spelled out Bah, Humbug, and no lights at all. Since I had my camera with me almost all the time, I took a picture of it and submitted it to my editor at the Birmingham News, and they published it with my by line. The local Montgomery paper picked it up on the AP wire and they ran it also. I have no idea how many other papers ran it.

The next day my dad got a call, and he took me the base commander's office. It is against the rules to take any pictures for publication on base, without prior permission. I was just a dumb kid, I did not know that. I apologized and promised it would never happen again. Then the Base Commander said in a stern voice, make sure it doesn't. Then winked, smiled, and said off the record, we all loved it. The officer in that house is a jerk, and we all loved ribbing him about it, but if you repeat that I will have your camera equipment confiscated if you bring it on this base.

I told him it would never be a problem.

It was not long after that some of the convicted Watergate folks came to Maxwell for a nice stay in the minimum security federal prison. I was hired by Time magazine to shoot photos of the prison, and particularly the dorm room like beds. I had full press pass, and a authorization by that same base commander to take photos of ONLY the prison.

This is the extent of my Christmas decorating.

http://www.zipbang.com/Photos/wreath1.jpg

Put it up on Thanksgiving weekend and remove it between Christmas and New Years.
There is some danger involving a tall ladder any my advance age/health issues..
But no electrocution worries unless there is on-going lightening activity at the time of installation or removal.

S0...Ha ha ha, Melly Clissimass!

RKDinOKC 12-02-2018 02:21 PM

The status of my Christmas giving is oh hold.
In the past gave home made Apricot Mango Salsa and a bag of Toasted Corn Doritos.

Toasted Corn Doritos has been discontinued Frito Lay...the bastages.
Have done testnig with off the shelf salsa and various tortilla chips and have not found any chips anywhere nearly as good as plain ol Doritos toasted corn to enjoy with salsa.

So looking for something else.

My brother suggested Spring Rolls. There was a Laosion guy at work the always gave a big batch of spring rolls to everyone at the company and specifically to my brother's family for christmas. Everyone really liked em. Problem is they were always freshly made.

Tried making tamales, but that is way too much mess with the masa.

GH85Carrera 12-02-2018 07:15 PM

I hope that is an old photo Richard. That is the old style tag and expired. ;)

I saw a old tag like that the other day. The tag expired in May of 2017. That is amazing they can get away with that for that long.

RKDinOKC 12-03-2018 01:15 AM

Yeo and I no longer have sconce lighting like that, house numbers, and replaced te red bow on the wreath, the old bow was getting weathered looking.

Replace the sconces with sconces with LED lights and are photo sensitive to turn them on/off at dark/daylight. Was goin to add a timer switch that turns them off at like mid-night the back to their own photo sensor in the am. But with LED the timer switch would take 2 years to save it's $18 cost.

Swapped out the house numbers with lit ones that are solar powered and turn on/off like the sconce lighting. They got buggered by the hail that triggered the re-roofing nail foot fiasco. Took them down to re-paint and that is as far as I got.

The 928 tag is up-to-date. Even had to buy a new sticker because someone peeled it at the grocery store. Have gone back to once installed cut sticker with a razor blade to make it so it can't be removed in one piece...bastages

Well, F em.
The spam/virus filter I've been using, Cannit by Roaring Penguin got purchased by another company, AppRiver.
It seems like it is going the way of typical purchases.

Started with a filter in 1990 called RAV. It worked great, then RAV was bought by Microsoft an shut down.
Moved to Mail Foundry which guaranteed less than one in a million false positives. Worked great, bought and by Barracuda, who were much worse.
Moved to Cannit. Fantastic. Now they have been bought by AppRiver.

Move to AppRiver this weekend. There were 80 messages in my AppRiver quarantine email this morning. Usually never have more than 1, or 2, 8 at the most. And all of them had either F$$kbuddy, or Hookup in the subject and only 1 was from USA.

Guess I am going to have to waist time finding a new spam filter, arrrrgh.

Seriously thinking about putting up a go-fund-me/web site to collect donations to place ads on TV. Kinda a like the TRUTH cigarette PSAs, Only it would be DON'T CLICK anti-spam PSAs. Am sure the web site would have to be like Fort Knox with all the spammers trying to take it down. Especially once the PSAs strart running on TV. Another problem is with so many cord cutters, not sure how effective they would be.

Whatta you guys think?

RKDinOKC 12-03-2018 05:27 AM

Great Cannit is rated at 5 stars, freakin Appriver is rated 4.

GH85Carrera 12-03-2018 05:29 AM

Yea, something is weird with that spam filter. For the most part it is working, but I have an email from AppRiver that mentions two emails. One from USAA that I want, and one about Orange Bowl tickets that I want to block forever. I don't see either of them in the spam website.

Hey good Monday morning everyone.

RKDinOKC 12-03-2018 05:56 AM

It seems to only allow. And then it sends it to me to approve.
Don't fund much for the users to block anything. Crazy.

Found one called guarddog that is rated 5 stars. But the only way you can interact with the company is via email?

Porsche-poor 12-03-2018 06:22 AM

Morning all. Spent the weekend shuttling the star of the high school play back and forth. Turns out my youngest is a hit. He played Scrooge and all the moms wanted pictures after each of the three shows. Do it all over again next weekend.
