We only get to zero on rare occasions, and not for long. When I was breaking in the engine on my 911 it was zero degrees and it is the only time I ever used the heater on HIGH for more than a few minutes. The oil temp never got above 140 degrees. I can not imagine -35. Don't ever wanna try it.

I just had to Google it, the coldest ever in Oklahoma was in far northeast Oklahoma in the town of Nowata (pronounced No-wa-ta) reached minus 31 in February 2011. We got down to -4 that day.

Porsche-poor 01-28-2019 03:29 PM

No-wa-ta sounds like no water and at -31 you don't want lots of water around.

flipper35 01-28-2019 03:30 PM

If there is, it woun't be liquid for long!

sammyg2 01-28-2019 03:37 PM

The all-time record low temp for here is 27.

I've only seen it under 30 a few times here.
That's scary cold. Schools shut down, businesses shut down, no one goes to work, no one goes outside.
I don't think the ocean freezes tho.

Porsche-poor 01-28-2019 03:38 PM

google says "Likewise, on Jan. 31, 1950, in the midst of a bone-chilling arctic blast, the temperature plunged to 0 degrees at Sea-Tac Airport—the city's coldest temperature on record." for here.

sammyg2 01-28-2019 03:43 PM

Zero? Yikes.

Iffn it ever got that cold here, California would snap off and sink. Or at least part of it would.

flipper35 01-28-2019 03:56 PM

The coldest it has ever been in WI is -55*. Back in 1997.

OK now you're just messing with us.

pete3799 01-28-2019 04:07 PM

Record low in Vermont was -50 on Dec. 30 1933.
It's a balmy 3 above right now but it's falling rapidly.

Remember once in my 88 951S with Pole Positions, right after Bridgestone first came out with them, it was so cold it spun out going really slow around a corner. It wasn't even icey, just really cold, like 10°.

RKDinOKC 01-29-2019 05:52 AM

Brrr, cold trek draggin the bin to the curb this morning.

GH85Carrera 01-29-2019 06:29 AM

Last November when we drove to Eureka Springs, Arkansas it was cold. During the day it would get nice, but each night was COLD. The Sunday when we drove home it was cold and going to get colder and snow that evening. It was overcast and in the 30s as we drove home down some of the best fun driving roads in the world. The legal speed limit is 55. No way a human could turn the steering wheel fast enough even if the traction was there at 55 in the corners.

Every corner has a "suggested speed" for the average driver. We usually double that, and have fun. One section of road the suggested corner speed was 10 MPH. And the corners are lock to lock, and not often is the steering wheel is straight between corners. At one point the cold temps and my summer performance tires came to a maximum of traction. The car is very neutral and it just sort of jumped sideways about a foot going 25 MPH. Mrs Carrera hit me on the arm and said I should slow down. Just then the speed limit sign appeared and it was 55 still so I pointed out I was 30 MPH under the speed limit in that turn. She did not accept that point of my argument since she was looking into the valley far below on her side of the car.

Yea, we would like to have to old domain only because it would be nice to pull us up in Google if someone is looking for the old company started in 1947 by name. We ain't paying a big premium for it. I don't think we will get much of anything from that web address. We offered to buy it and the phone number from the idiot son that runs the company. He was not interested in selling it, and he destroyed perfectly good office equipment we had offered to buy just so we would have to buy new. The good news for us, is I bought a new color laser printer-fax-scanner for less that we were going to offer for the old b&w unit.

Back in the stone ages before Google, I would find a web site by guessing a domain name. I was showing a customer how that works and she said how about a hard drive for my computer. So I typed in Harddrive.com. It was nothing to do with computers and was a much different hard driving right on the opening screen. It was great when the first search engines popped up.

Out of curiosity I just typed in Harddrive.com. It is slow to come up, but it really for computer hard drives now.

There are ways to pull that off without having the own the domain. Just have to perform some trickery with google and the keywords. Lots of tutorials online about it.

We need to hire an Google search pro to get us higher in the ranking when folks look for aerial photography in OK. Right now we are hardly on the list. Do you know someone that can do that for a reasonable cost?

porsche4life 01-29-2019 06:36 AM

I don’t, but i recall there being lots of YouTube videos and blog posts for realtors about playing the search rank game. Look for those, the concept is the same. Setup a Google AdWords account, it will give you more insight to how people are finding you.

Morning all. Up to -1* so far! At least it is sunny today.

GH85Carrera 01-29-2019 06:49 AM

We are supposed to hit 69 this weekend. It is just in the mid 20s now, but getting warmer with the blue skies and sunshine. I may have to start tinkering on the 911 again to get ready for my trip to Key West, FL next summer. I have the new LED tail lights made by a member on Pelican. They are pretty much plug and play, except the relay needed for the turn signals and cruise control. I may figure out a third brake light as well, if I can find one that is not too ugly. I gotta change the transmission oil and the engine oil in the next 5 months.

I will also pop off the door cards and oil the window tracks and locks, just because it has been 15 years since I have done it.

Porsche-poor 01-29-2019 08:05 AM

looks like I am having trouble getting to the site again.

RKDinOKC 01-29-2019 08:10 AM

I did that Sidney using the webmaster tools and they ain't getting no hits. Looking to hire a person familiar with wordpress/divi environment.

Porsche-poor 01-29-2019 08:17 AM

whats the company name again? I'll google it
