BTW, Happy 1st day of Winter.

Don't forget bi-directional communication on all the wires plus less latency due to the bi-directional talk and reduced cross talk. But otherwise the same.
"Beyond the speed/distance factor, Cat 6 has a tighter twist in the cables, which allows for two-way communication on each pair of wires, where Cat 5e does not allow this feature. We have noticed that in certifying our cable installations, Cat 5e cable has a tendency to have a higher delay and skew than Cat 6 cable. That means that even though both Cat5e and Cat 6 can do 1 Gigabit networks, Cat 5e may have a longer delay for the signal to get from one side to the other, which will give the appearance that it runs slower." Yeah, we had words with the guys at the top. |

Hey, it's just one little number between Cat 5 and Cat 6 cable and I bet the 5 is lots cheaper. ;) |
I’m freezing my butt off when it’s mid-40s in the morning with afternoon highs in the mid-60s. I’m a wimp.

It is 57 and clear blue skies here. Kind Montery like weather, without the traffic or the seafood.

No quotas any more office365 gives you too much 100GB default more doesn't cost just have to turn it on.
Where it cost is archiving their mailbox when they leave the company. Storing all those gigs for 7 years. Oh yeah, if you get over 20,000 messages in a folder, like sent items, it corrupts the local pst and Outlook won't open. We've had that happen recently. Everything they do is by committee and never has anyone involved that actually knows anything about the decisions being made.
You should have seen the 70th anniversary graphic they had everyone add to their signatures. The writing on it was so small you could not read or even tell what it might say except for the big 70 on it. Any time I bring something up that is an issue am told "We need to make a policy for that" and it goes off into committee land and never gets resolved. |
Microsoft has come out with this new thing. They are moving Skype to something they call Teams which includes a Sharepoint site. It;s all free until you start using more storage space and processing points.
Microsoft had a messaging platform they called Yammer which was a lot like Facebook. It died because people used it like Facebook and filled it with non-work related social chatter. Teams is quickly becoming the same thing as Yammer only it has Skype (but nobody is using Skype as part of it). In our test using the IT department it is 90% social chatter that work information gets lost in. It is being rolled out company wide. Yikes. Oh and they post lots of 'Joke" pictures on the team site "colaboration" discussions. That's what killed yammer. Team stuff uses one-drive and sharepoint space which not only costs for more drive space, each sharepoint site uses a certain amount of processor points. Your sites are throttled when it starts getting close to it's max and even slower once it reaches it. I've noticed even 365admin getting slower already due to our small sharepoint usage with unregulated sharepoint points usage. There has got to be a tenant option to buy more processor usage. Admin class I took said to be mindful of the points different thing take. That using to much will cripple your 365. I know, I know... b o r i n g snxxxxxxzzzzzzzzzzz |
Picked up the ingredients for chip juice. Clerk says deli make chips and they like em. They are $1 a bag. Forgot to get Apricot Jam, will check them out tomorrow. The store brownies suck. They are just thin cake. That ain't what a brownie is about.
Next door neighbor brought over whole grain banana muffins. They don't have a lot of banana flavor, but they don't taste like cardboard. So for whole grain they are pretty good. I'm betting a whole bunch of sugar. Next door neighbor's Mom is 98. Oldest in my family was my Mom's cousin. We all called him Uncle Alfred. He had a yellow 50's Buick convertible that was in showroom condition. Lived to within a month of 100. He was in better health and looked younger than his kids. He lived with a son and son's wife. They argued about who was helping take care of who. He couldn't have been doing to bad, he was driving that Buick. Remember when I was a kid visiting Grandma there was an old man that drove around town in a tractor with a cab on it that was heated and air conditioned. It was canvas looking like a Jeep. Grandma said he drove it because they took his license. Being 6, I thought that was funny. |
Dang greedy boss man, making me work on Saturday. My business partner flew a project in Arkansas yesterday. He did his part, so I get to do the image and terrain map. Our customer is a land surveyor that put down a bunch of targets on the ground. Big X marks in a precise location he surveys in. We make the map fit his marks and we send him a file(s) that he puts his Surveyor stamp on and sells it to his client. He will take our map, read some other locations like a manhole cover, and verify our map is accurate well within National Map Standards. Everyone is happy when the client coughs up the money.

Have a 2nd nephew that has swapped roles with his wife. Takin on raising the new kid being homemaker while the wife works. Bob's oldest son did that as well. And he quit a really good job a Boeing too.
When I was growing up the Dad always worked, sometimes the Mom worked as well. The only time just the Mom worked is if she was a divorcee. |
Got some of them deli made fried chips. They were a little stale. Once warmed up in the ol' toaster oven, they was better than any of the chip isle chips. And for only $1 a bag. May have to check out Chillenos where I met Brent and his family for some Mexican. I know their chips are good, good reheated, AND really like their cilantro salsa. They also don't get stale for a full week even though they come in paper bags.

When we drove to Bob's Monday there was a slight shaking like an out of balance tire. It has stared shaking a little when first started, and just before you stop driving. Some times the shaking contines while stopped sometimes not.
When the Cayenne S did this motor mounts fixed, $350 installed. Understand it is more expensive for the Turbo because they have to remove the turbos to replace the motor mounts. Ah the thrills of a vehicle with 150,000 miles. Still a LOT cheaper than a new one. |
frackin' quakes
|
Yep, ALL quakes are caused by fracking.
You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here. Parents should have the right to abort a child until that child reaches 21 years of age. The they are the governments responsibility. All gun deaths are caused by guns not the people pulling the trigger. There is no such thing as an illegal immigrant. Be quieted in the bedeepening gloom that your dog is finally getting enough vegetables. And whether you can hear it or not, the extraterrestrials are laughing behind your back.
