We live in the real world, no virtual reality for us!

One multi-threaded CPU, enough RAM to run everything, and a solid state drive to make it go fast. Go baby go.

Porsche-poor 02-22-2019 12:55 PM

my reality is a figment of my imagination.

flipper35 02-22-2019 12:58 PM

Yeah, well you enjoy the insanity.

Actually, we kinda do too!

GH85Carrera 02-22-2019 01:00 PM

My reality is rather insane. Or is that my insanity is real, I can't remember.

Porsche-poor 02-22-2019 01:14 PM

a sound mind is over rated.

flipper35 02-22-2019 01:14 PM

All I know is my sanity is not real.

First computer that could do more than spell 8008135 was an Apple IIc. It was portable! Portable and not Laptop because it had a power brick and an 80 column green screen to lug around, or could plug it into my Color TV! Was writing a program to do WYSIWYG to output to a typesetter when Aldus came out with Pagemaker for the Mac. Sold IIc and got a Mac. Used the first digital linotype in OKC for typesetting.

Currently have a 2015 15in Powerbook with 2.8Ghz i7, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD, and 2 27in displays each with speakers and camera.

And yep, I run a Virtual Windows PC on the MacOS.

Once, back in the day, ran emulation software on my Mac to simulated DOS then software that simulated flying and R/C airplane (with controller that simulated an R/C radio) that was like flying real airplanes. Was told that was way geeky cool.

Reality is a pigment of your immigration.

Just introduced my 6 year old daughter to Bob Ross reruns on netflix. She LOVED it. My life is complete! :)

Oh look, a happy little accident.

Painted at easels in 5th grade. Before that it was at our desks or on s flat work table.
Didn't get to paint in school again unless you took art classes in HS.

When was 6 really liked a guy named Bruce Mcintyre that was on PBS teaching drawing. Even got his book.
Taught stuff like perspective and shading. Took my drawing from flat to 3D. There are videos of the old series.

A little after that my Mom's cousin looked at my drawings and paintings. He was the senior art professor at Oklahoma University.
Told me what made my artwork good AND to never take lessons. Instead to just get materials and work with them.
Said if you take lessons you end up doing artwork like your teacher and lose your individuality.

Quit painting when I could not figure out how to paint sky so it didn't look cloudy.

I can’t even draw a bath, so I have to take a shower. Like music, I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. All I can play is a radio or electronic music player.

Jim Richards 02-23-2019 01:08 PM

Great working in the yard day. There’s a lot I need to catch up on since before the Costa Rica trip. Back to work...

GH85Carrera 02-23-2019 02:58 PM

We have had some weird weather. It is mostly clear skies, mid 40s and Kansas and Missouri are really sucking and the Texas panhandle is blowing. 40 to 50 mph gusts all day and mostly 40 mph constant winds. No storm in sight.

Jim Richards 02-23-2019 03:42 PM

We sent you those winds, too, Glen. Just wanted to show you that we're no one-trick-pony (rain)! :D

GH85Carrera 02-24-2019 06:14 AM

Phew, Arkansas quit sucking so much. It is gonna get to mid 60s temps and clear skies today. I am gonna play in the garage.

Jim Richards 02-24-2019 08:28 AM

We might hit 60 degrees here. Clear sky’s, too.

RKDinOKC 02-24-2019 04:13 PM

Got out today and grilled all ground beef and chicken got yesterday. Found cooking rare on the grill it is perfect after warming in the toaster oven. Plus it's easier to melt the cheese over it.

Nooo. My older 27in Cinema display died. Got at Thunderbolt 27in Cinema display like the one that still works coming from ebay.
Missing half my screen real-estate until the replacement arrives. Seems really weird.
Guess I can take the dead one to Staples for recycling.

Jim Richards 02-24-2019 04:18 PM

Sounds great. I’m hungry!

I bought 40 bags of mulch and spread out 30 bags of mulch so far. I think I’m probably going to need to buy at least 10 more bags to do all of the planting beds. At least the weather was nice for this project.

porsche4life 02-24-2019 05:50 PM

Evening/ morning from Regensburg Germany! It’s 4 am here, damn jet lag is keeping me from getting back to sleep.
