I got to do some warranty work on the Cobra on NYD. I hate mice.

Tonight I get to finish the wiring on the stereo. I enjoy the car being small when I work on things in the engine compartment. I hate it being so small working under the dash. At least the seats are out or it would be more horrible. My butt was against the rear bulkhead working on the defroster vent hose.

as long as you don't get stuck.

I keep my phone out and in reach just in case. I ain't as young and flexible as I used to be.

If I have to work in the foot wells or under the dash of the 911 I will often just pop off the steering wheel to get it out of the way. It does not take long.

flipper35 01-02-2020 07:58 AM

Yup, I have the whole steering column out. Still tight.

Still trying to decide what to spend on a fridge.

Wake up folks!

I ate lunch yesterday with a friend that I have known since 1978 when I first moved to Oklahoma. It was nice to chat and catch up on how life is going. I got my first PC from him, the Compaq Luggable with dual floppies and 256 K of ram. He was the president of a local bank, and they had already bought desktops to replace the Compaq. So I got it for way cheaper than new. I immediately upgraded the memory to the maximum of 640K and added a 10MB hard drive and a 1200 baud modem. Oh, and I upgraded to DOS 3.1. I still have the Compaq DOS 2.2 it came with on a shelf.

Says you!

RKDinOKC 01-03-2020 09:40 AM

Something is wack with 365. It is putting up a message telling me my admin user is not authenticating but it is still letting me do stuff like it authenticated just fine.

flipper35 01-03-2020 09:41 AM

Welcome to 365. I am not saying it is trash but, where is that aliens guy hair meme picture?

I did but I have only had to work 3 days this week. Next week a full 5...…….I might die.

flipper35 01-03-2020 10:04 AM

Hey, it is a new year. Things will be better. That's what Star Trek says of the future!

RKDinOKC 01-03-2020 10:22 AM

Yeah, 365 has a new simpler interface. It takes more clicking to find and get to settings, and more settings can only be done thru Powershell. Does not sound simpler to me.

flipper35 01-03-2020 01:44 PM

See, they don't tel you what it is simpler than! It is simpler than reading braille with your ear. It is simpler than using a DOS emulator in Linux to run a Mac emulator!

I like how they sell things as "better". It has more so it must be better.

Now cars more can be better. More power, more traction, more steering feel. The MS way you get more wheel hop, more weight, more clutch slip, more...

Have a good weekend all y'all.

Porsche-poor 01-03-2020 01:49 PM

see more is better.....Oh wait in this case its better for the mega-corp who thought the crap up.

I got the new 850 watt power supply in the old computer. Anyone need a 650 watt power supply? One drive on the RAID would drop out, I presume due to lack of power. The new PS as them all running no sweat, and it is rebuilding the RAID and saved the data so it was a good test. 35.7 TB of space from five 10-TB drives. So a decent chunk of overhead for the RAID.

The new PS was not in the totally over the top packaging like the one for my monster computer. Who wants or needs a custom bag just to hold the cables hat might not be used. Since I put two video cards, and 7 hard drives in it, all the cables were used. It has a 850 watt PS as well. Again I think back to the olden days and building computers and a 200 watt PS was a bragging point with a 66 MHz CPU.
