Our groomer is shut down due to CV. I still have all the tools to groom our Schnauzer myself. Oh well.

Mine is doing the drop off pickup thing where their employee comes out and gets the dog or puts it in the car. You open the car door and they don't touch anything but your dog. They even put on and remove their own leash. And she didn't get within 6 ft of me.

Don't know how long the virus lives on washed and combed out dog hair. Pepper does smell like medicated shampoo, don't know what all that kills either.

GH85Carrera 03-25-2020 05:20 AM

Our vet sent out an email saying their lobby is closed. They just come to the car and get your pet. The dogs must really hate that.

I am supposed to go to see my dentist today. He called on Monday to remind me, like they do for all patients. The appointment is in my phone, so I would not have forgotten.

RKDinOKC 03-25-2020 06:07 AM

My dentist sent several emais to get people to come in and/or make appointments.
Medical doctors have been rescheduling for end of May.

Uber, Uber Eats, Door Dash, Gethub, Instacart have been listing CV protection and door drop for delivery. Telling how it is safer than pickup. And how supporting local restaurants are keeping them opens as dining rooms are closed. Several restaurants have given up and closed. Guessing before long the only thing delivering will be pizza or places that did most of their sales pre-lockdown via druve thru or delivery.

Our lab doesn't need the pill hider treats. She takes her pills like she does any other treat.

Need stuff from the hardware store. Will have to send the daughter to get it since I am not supposed to go anywhere.

Porsche-poor 03-25-2020 06:24 AM

Morning all. Yeah a lot of places have gone to touch free transactions. Strange new world we live in.

flipper35 03-25-2020 06:29 AM

Our vacuum broke so we shopped around and Best Buy of all places had the best price. Order online and they bring it out to you at the store. Should have done this years ago!

RKDinOKC 03-25-2020 06:55 AM

Yep, shop about everywhere and everything from home with delivery to my front door.
Have been for the last 6 months due to health issues.

Now just added "spray the box with Lysol" before bringing in from porch.
Assume virus inside the box died during shipping. However, spray next day shipped stuff.

GH85Carrera 03-25-2020 07:13 AM

While I was at the dentists today the email came through for him to close up shop by the end of today. I I got in by the skin of my teeth, that are now cleaned up and ready.

flipper35 03-25-2020 07:17 AM

I don't mind shopping, I don't like being around people. I do OK if it is a few people, but even when we have the stupid potlucks at work, that is too many people.

If I had a large property with a long curvy paved driveway, I would never leave my property. Well, seldom leave. I would have to go get gas after many trips up and down the drive!

GH85Carrera 03-25-2020 07:28 AM

My mom always said she wanted to live in a house with a driveway so long that they needed their own gas station. That and she wanted a house so big she needed a riding vacuum. I think she was exaggerating even though she told me a million times not to exaggerate.

GH85Carrera 03-25-2020 12:20 PM

My wife was chatting with one of her friends with bored kids at home. School lessons are part of the day, but evening and weekends are killing her with bored kids. So she figured she would run to Hobby Lobby and get some craft projects for them to do. Oklahoma City is the headquarters for the Hobby Lobby chain. They are everywhere here.

The lady said the shelves were stripped bare of arts and crafts projects for kids.

flipper35 03-25-2020 12:39 PM

Probably learning how to make TP!

RKDinOKC 03-25-2020 02:38 PM

SIL posted on facebook a local tv article about hobby lobby employees anonymously complaining about hobby lobby NOT closing.

Other people are posting how grateful they are that they have an essential job.

GH85Carrera 03-26-2020 05:09 AM

The governor declared liquor stores and essential business. So that is good. Of course I have not purchased anything in a liquor store since the liquor laws were changed and I get the good beer from the gas station.

The funniest thing, is now liquor stores are allowed to legally deliver booze to a person's house. For so many years that was simply forbidden by law. Oklahoma was a state were on-line wine or booze orders were simply not permitted.

RKDinOKC 03-26-2020 05:39 AM

Think the corner gas station/Jiffy Stop is the same owners as the liquor store next door.

Yesterday they were wearing gloves and masks.

GH85Carrera 03-26-2020 07:18 AM

Yep, they are the same folks. They are from Nepal originally. They bring over kids to work in the station, and send them to college to get educated. Then they go back home to Nepal with a degree and Oklahoma get the funds for foreign students.

I asked one of the managers there to order and stock the Erdinger Dunkle when it is available. When it is in the supply line from Germany he has it in the cooler.

They do of course have the drive up service. I never use that, I prefer to go in still. If things get worse I my have to switch to the drive through to get my cold beer.

We just made a run to PetSmart to get dog food. We were not out, but the bosses wife decided we needed to have a longer supply in case things do get worse. The dog food will not go bad, and we only bough a smaller bag, not the huge bag like normal to feed two 12 pound dogs.

flipper35 03-26-2020 07:25 AM

I can't even get the local stores to stock Throwback Mountain Dew. It is probably a good thing. The local grocery/hardware store carries a butterscotch root-beer. Good stuff that is!

RKDinOKC 03-26-2020 07:48 AM

Last grocery delivery Homeland was out of the Salmon dog food Pepper eats.

My business partner flew a project yesterday, and he is flying one today.

I had to make a run to his house to pick up the data, 30 Gig of data. The client said he wants us to FTP it. I know I can't FTP one 30 GB file, but I guess 30 one GB files are possible in theory, maybe 20 - 1.5 GB files.

His house is in a gated community. So I used a rubber glove to punch in the code on the keypad, and kept the gloves on to get into his house, and grab the thumb drive, and lock up. When I got home, I wiped the drive and the packaging down with the cleaning wipes I have. He was in Florida and came home on an airplane full of spring break students from Destin, FL.
