I do know that guy and he didn't keep any of those from 1995. Not that it would help. The lighting issue is in the harness which has no diagram.

They are just trying to give the owner the authentic Lucas electrics experience. It is a car based on the AC Bristol, British electricals at their finest.

Maybe it just needs another refresh of smoke!

flipper35 06-26-2020 10:59 AM

Yup. Part of the reason for this whole mess is replacing the gauges that never were right. Speedhut now.

The GTS is from the Bosch fuse and relay era. It does all kinds of monitoring, dash warnings, and controls that are all done with fuses and relays. Nothing can be done without a wiring diaghram.

On the cayenne their is a light sensor that is in the wiper rain sensor that does something to control the brightness of the dash lighting at night? My dash lights only light 50%. Dealer said to fix them I need to get the windshield removed, the sensor straightened out and then the windshield re-mounted and re-sealed.

flipper35 06-26-2020 12:37 PM

There is only one difficult piece to remove on the Cobra. The dash. I think I can R&R the engine faster than the dash.

GH85Carrera 06-26-2020 12:51 PM

The dash is horrible to R&R on almost any normal road car. I would love to find someone to remove my El Camino dash so I fix the sun damage and cracked plastic, and have them replace all the 34 year old vacuum hoses "while they are in there". The hoses don't have any issues, but I suspect they would fall apart if messed with.

No vacuum hoses in the dash for the 911, but same horrible pain to get to the screws, and remove the dash. The windshield has to come out to do either car's dashes.

They are both "it ain't broke" so no fixing to do on them.

Back to everybody has a Saturday. I guess Jim has retired from Pelican, I have not seen a post from him in a while.

GH85Carrera 06-27-2020 09:00 AM

Phew, having fun here boss.

Got the yard mowed. It is solid overcast and "only 85 degrees" but 74% humidity. No direct sun helps a lot for staying cool.

That idiot that fertilized the yard made the yard GROW a lot. And the grass was covered in dew that was not going to evaporate with the high humidity.

Back to a Monday Morning.

It is a shame the random pics thread was closed, but it was totally FUBAR, and did not work with TapaTalk, and it had phantom pages. All caused by one guy that got mad, deleted many 10s of thousands of posts and his account. Then he came back with he same user name. Now his old posts can't be searched, as he was a real troll at times.

Oh Boy! Got an unemployment debit card today! It's been 8 weeks since furloughed. Supposed to get unemployement for 28 weeks.

GH85Carrera 06-30-2020 05:15 AM

Money!

I hate those debit card payments. My OK state tax refund was a debit card. The Feds just transferred the money back to my checking account. One advantage of a business, lots of expenses to deduct, and the airplane depreciation. All 100% legal, and done with our CPA signature on it.

RKDinOKC 06-30-2020 08:39 AM

Will try to setup the weelly payments to autp deposit.

Gotta figure out the flex pay medical debit card before they delete my monies.

flipper35 06-30-2020 09:27 AM

Hot, humid and stormy today. No mow for me!

Porsche-poor 06-30-2020 12:08 PM

Afternoon all. its been a rough few days. 11-12 hours non-stop CAD and then chores.

GH85Carrera 06-30-2020 01:26 PM

That sounds horrible David. I just took a long nap. I did not even mean to, I just dozed off, and woke up 45 minutes later. Now I have to go yell at myself for being lazy, but I won't even care and sure not going to change.

Porsche-poor 06-30-2020 01:42 PM

The issue for 95% review goes out today so there will be some down time.

GH85Carrera 07-01-2020 05:10 AM

David, I guess the good news is that does provide job security, and a steady paycheck. That is always a good thing.

Porsche-poor 07-01-2020 06:19 AM

morning. True that just no fun.

GH85Carrera 07-01-2020 06:31 AM

That is why they call it work, or a job. Very few people get to do for a living what they love to do, and still love to do it.

All my life I have been involved with photography. I used to point out to fellow employees that across the country millions of people are hurrying home from work to go work in their home darkrooms and print photos or process film. It was still a job, and at midnight finishing up a big project just so you can start again at 8:00 AM it was no fun at all.

Over the years I dated a lot of different women until I finally found Mrs. Carrera when I was in my late 30s. Many of them wanted to learn about photography. So I was happy to show them my darkroom technique. ;)

Porsche-poor 07-01-2020 06:45 AM

yeah and she married the boss and uses you for yardwork. LOL
