So no diaper changing?

Back in the late 70s early 80s I did not have a TV. I read a lot of books and magazines. Then I bought a Commodore Vic 20 and started down the path of computer geek-nerd. The Vic-20 did not have a dedicated monitor, and it assumed you owned a TV. So I bought a TV to use as a monitor.

In 1979 and 80 is the only time I ever had a roommate. Two guys in one duplex, and neither of us had a TV. We would have girlfriends over and they often asked where is your TV? We started making up outrageous fibs as to why we have no TV. No real reason except we working, or dating or outside doing something more interesting than watching TV.

30mph winds today and some snow. Hope it dies down by the weekend. I hate standing in the wind.

I just went to fill up the 911 after the trip back from Eureka Springs. I just love the 21 gallon fuel tank on the 911. We filled up Saturday morning, did the "Low Gap Tour" and ate lunch at a great place in the middle of nowhere, returned to the hotel, did the car show, and then on Sunday drove home. I just put in 17.5 gallons of gas so I had another 100+ miles of driving on that tank of gas.

I have done a few 500 mile trip on one tank of gas. I like to get home low on gas to get a full tank at a station I know. The place in Eureka Springs sold 100% gasoline for the premium, so I should be golden for no corn in my tank.

That 4 day journey was just under 900 miles. I am closing in on 182,000 miles.

The minivan has an 18 gallon tank that is good for 585 miles on a good day. My bladder is not.

The 914 had a 21 gallon tank as well. In the olden days when I was young and on a hot summer day I drove non stop from downtown Houston to my grandmother's house and that was 501 miles. It was an all day trip and I sweated out most of the water. And it was the bad old days of 55 MPH speed limit. To go 70 was risking handcuffs and a visit to jail.

Last weekend it was just a blast to go past a cop running RADAR, while my detector was squalling, while driving 80 MPH, and be 100% legal. Some parts of the turnpikes here have an 80 MPH limit.

Morning all. What a day. The computer is still giving me fits and IT is not sure what is up. Two projects need it all done now and then I get a frantic call from the wife. While out walking our dog they were attacked by another dog. One police report later and a $350 vet bill. What a day.

My computer is telling me I can download and install Windows 11. I think I will wait until Monday to try it. After a couple of full backups and clone of the boot drive.

She needs to take a grizzly bear for a walk next time and there would be no issues.

One of our neighbors walks her dog every day. She carries a "walking stick" that the end is club shaped. She said she had to wack a few aggressive dogs over the years to protect her dog and herself. Usually just waving a weapon at a dog gets the bluffing dogs to back down. The serious mean dogs get the wacks.

I would suggest a pepper blaster from Kimber, but you may want to seek out someone versed in the law first!

Not sure how they would work on a dog since it is a pretty localized spray of gel and it might be pretty easy to miss.

Or I go with her next walk. The dog will not get a warning shot.

We have yet to have an freeze this year. Our elephant ears are the real indicator, and they are still happy to keep growing. It is one of the few plants we have left from when we moved it. After a freeze, we cut them down to the ground, and they come back each spring for 22 years. Every other tree, bush and plant has been moved or replaced and a whole lot of new flower beds and plants have been installed.

According to the “Sunset Western Garden Book,” coastal San Diego is in Climate Zone 24.
Frost-free with mild summers, cool winters and generally moist air; this zone is dominated by the Pacific Ocean.
Water usage is a critical consideration when developing a San Diego garden.
So it lives on...

Yea, San Diego is much like Hawaii, or the Florida Keys, everything grows there and and thrives.

The difference is San Diego was a desert, and just humans bringing in water makes it green. It was strange to go to parts of the city that was not watered and see the brown of the desert.

I just went on a short errand in the Elky and seconds after starting, it popped up an Service Engine Soon alert for a few seconds, and then it went out. So it was a transitory failure and not a hard fail.

I have not seen any flash of the SES light in about 10 years. I had to dig into the back of a cabinet to find the code reader I bought when I converted to fuel injection 11 years ago. Then I had to remember how to set it up, and read the codes. After a few tries, I learn that the throttle position sensor is too low. I have not touched anything under the air filter in the last 2,500 miles of so since my last oil change and filter changes. It did not change adjustment on its own. It must be wear.

So I am betting the sensor is just wearing out. Now I need to figure out what part I need. The system was a cobbled together system I converted from a GM throttle body from a Chevy S-10.

My Rdx was hard starting on Saturday and posted a code about the airbags might nor function due to an electrical system error. If it were anything but the airbags I'd say screw it. It goes to the dealer on Friday for a check.

small lawn is my vice, mostly succulents and drip irrigation.
Summer months can see $350 a month water bills.
Gardeners here pay for it.
