Another nice day in store here. Friday night in the big town!

For us, just like any other night. Just wild party animals. In bed by 10:30 PM and up at 7:15 AM

Porsche-poor 11-03-2023 06:25 AM

way to early on both ends for a weekend.

flipper35 11-03-2023 06:37 AM

weekends are like working second shift, sleep in, stay up late.

Though I have been updating some crap and working on the 3D printer stuff so it has been 1:30 to 2:00 am on weekdays.

I need coffee.

Porsche-poor 11-03-2023 06:50 AM

Coffee and a warning sign..................

GH85Carrera 11-03-2023 06:57 AM

Wait, what there is a 2:00 AM???? Yuck.

I turn into a pumpkin by 11:00 so I best be in bed before that. I see an occasional 3:30 AM briefly when I have to get up to pee, but I go right back to bed and sleep.

I remember the days when "an all nighter" meant staying up all night and having breakfast before going to bed. Noo an all nighter is not having to get up to pee.

Brent, do you have a 3D printer at home for the models you are making?

flipper35 11-03-2023 10:10 AM

Yeah, I have an Elegoo Saturn resin printer. Now that I have it, I wish I had a larger one for some stuff, but it does a good job otherwise.

Bought it October 2023 and have just ordered my 24th kg of resin for it. Have printed a ton of stuff. Some practical, some as enhancements for the printer and some stuff for the kids.

More rims.

I know a few folks that have a lot of fun with them. From what I understand the "good 3D" software is pretty hard to learn, and expensive.

I have enough hobbies, I don't need that one!

flipper35 11-03-2023 10:18 AM

Paint organizer. It is complete now, but this is a partial.

This is the setup. The airbrush booth I use clear plastic on top that I can just toss when it gets too much paint. I printed the pins for the sides so I can tear it down easily. Printers in the background. Used a vent fan to exhaust air out, but the water based paints aren't too bad.

My business partner has a 3D Printer.

My 85 911 had storage for cassette tapes behind the shifter. I removed the cassette holders soon after I got the car, and I had a large square place to put my water bottle, but it flopped around.

I had him design and print my water bottle holder.

This is the bottom side after I filled it with expanding foam. I then painted it the interior color, and it works great. It securely holds a standard water bottle and keeps it cool for a longer time than just the bottle flopping around in the square hole.

If I ever get motivated, I will ask him to print it again, only from the bottom up, to make the top part smooth. It has a slight flaw in the upper right, but what the heck, it does not affect the performance.

flipper35 11-03-2023 10:35 AM

That's why you cover it in leather, to cover the flaws!

Porsche-poor 11-06-2023 06:04 AM

Morning all. Its Monday. Wash rinse and repeat.

GH85Carrera 11-06-2023 06:31 AM

We drove up to Enid yesterday to celebrate my wife's and my birthday with my MIL. Wild and crazy times. Mostly I sat and updated her computer. We did go out to eat.

On the way back my wife wanted to take an route we had not done in 20 years or so. Down Hyw 74. It is not exactly a curvy road, and in fact there is only one gentle S curve and the rest of the time, just a long straight road. A lot of old farm houses were gone, a few nice new farm house, and lot and lots of wheat fields. The farmers that got the wheat in already have bright GREEN fields.

It brings us into the west part of the city, into heavy traffic that was road construction for decades. That is finally all finished, and much better. I just can't imagine how bad the traffic must be at rush hour. It was heavy on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM. Hopefully it will be another 20 years before we go that way again.

Porsche-poor 11-06-2023 07:20 AM

We had the grandkid again this weekend. So not much going on outside of legos and dinos and books.

GH85Carrera 11-06-2023 07:34 AM

It seems that one universal interest of all kids is dinosaurs. I was the same way, and still am to some extent. And after seeing Jurassic Park, I am really really happy dinosaurs are extinct. Imagine commuting to work, and having a Velociraptor in the parking lot between the building and your car.

Porsche-poor 11-06-2023 07:50 AM

How about how sturdy your house would have to be built to keep them out.

Yea, and dog poo in the front yard from a stray dog is bad, but a dino pile would take a dump truck to haul away!

flipper35 11-06-2023 09:25 AM

Yeah, but a trained vr would be a great watch pet!

Yea, maybe, but expensive to feed and house. And not a house pet!
