well before that.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:03 PM

all I know is that at -12 I'd fall off the couch and not be headed to work!!!!!

nynor 02-01-2011 07:10 PM

well, we aren't getting the snow that a lot of the rest of you are. that would probably make the difference. i am precepting students tomorrow, so my presence is not mandatory to staff the hospital.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:11 PM

"precepting" that painful?

nynor 02-01-2011 07:12 PM

sometimes.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:15 PM

for you or is this one of those "this will hurt you worse than me" moments?

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:16 PM

you will have to forgive me as I have spent way to much time in hospitals not to be a pain in the @$#.......

nynor 02-01-2011 07:17 PM

i suppose i am using a made up word, rooted in preceptor:

pre·cep·tor
   /prɪˈsɛptər, ˈprisɛp-/ Show Spelled[pri-sep-ter, pree-sep-] Show IPA
–noun
1.
an instructor; teacher; tutor.
2.
the head of a school.
3.
the head of a preceptory.

i think it is painful for the students. but when i have three of them, i think their pain is negligible compared to my pain.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:21 PM

ahh so your a doc. well I am a walking text book. I love it when they ask for a history of surgical visits and I tell them they need more paper. Scares them to death.

nynor 02-01-2011 07:26 PM

nah, i am a respiratory therapist. one day a week i have students that i work with.

i have a similar problem when it comes to listing surgeries. not that i am an over-achiever, but i've been in a few motor vehicle accidents and had cancer when i was a teen-ager.

Stijn!!

Since 1890 there have only been three snow days with more than 10 inches in OKC. Today was one, December 24th 2009 was the second. You have to go back to before statehood for the other time. I don't want to ever see this much snow again.

Might have been seen by one of those in 2004. Drag out the blow tube and wheese till the ball gets to here right?

nynor 02-01-2011 07:44 PM

yep, we do that. that little exercise is effective, BTW. not everything we do is effective, for sure.

Porsche-poor 02-01-2011 07:47 PM

I hated it but did it in order to get out and home. Was split from 1" up to about 3" above the belly button. Deep breathing was not high on the list of fun things to do.
