When I'm on the road, everyone else is a stupid driver so I do my best not to let it get to me

I used to love driving around the local circle until they made it twice as small and with weird entrances and exits. but people CAN'T drive you have no idea how many times while trailering the boat people have tried merging INTO a 21' boat. and i hate when they follow so close that i cant even see them behind the boat. i've got wide mirrors so you have to be like under the prop to be invisible.

[QUOTE=Pazuzu;4832260]Back to stupid drivers...
As soon as the light turns green, the entire line of 15 cars hammers the gas, despite the fact that, by certain laws of inertia and physics, they cannot actually all go at once. QUOTE] Have you ever watched the start of a F1 race? The guys in the back hit the gas the second they see the lights, just like the guys in front. I saw an interview with a driver and they said they do not wait for the car in front, they go as soon as they see the lights signal GO!

So I'm on a winding 2 laner tonight, no sidewalks along the majority of the roadway, and one side a little wider/grassy with a place to walk.
There was a pedestrian on the road surface, on the side with no room ![]()

On the way home tonight, entering a 45mph fork in the road near Pepperdine, the dufus in front of me realizes he's in the wrong fork and wails the brakes, with no regard of who's behind him (uh, me.) Good thing I have quick reactions and a quick-stopping car...and wasn't texting...

Scare of my life (on public roads at least) - a few years ago around midnight, I was cruising down a major city street in the left lane doing 45-50-ish. A dirtbag in a jacked-up 4x4 pickup yanked a U'ey directly in front of me from the right lane, into one of those little No-U-Turn gaps in the center island where people can turn into their residential streets. Had to stomp the ABS and pitch the car sideways to miss him by a foot or two. He never even slowed down - piss drunk I'm pretty damn sure.

Had a similar experience when I was around 22 and in Jersey. A pal was driving and I just about shiat myself cause a guy came barrelling in and did not yield. My buddy laid on the horn and I flipped the dude off. The guy starts the driving slow thing and flipping us off and then turns down a street and pulls into a driveway. I heard my pal just go "OK, fine".
A few days later he called and told me to look in the paper on a certain page....there was a picture of the dude's car with a Yield sigh sticking out of the front windshield. I was like HOLY CRAP...yeah, my pal had a few anger issues....but it was funny and yeah I laughed, not that I would ever encourage that. He never got caught either. |
