It's already burning...

First Santa Ana's of Fall - took about an hour.

You know, I have lived in CA all my life, and I don't remember these fires being this prevalent until about 10-15 years ago. Makes me think they are almost entirely arson based.

There are a lot of out-of-work firefighters.

Oh, wait, there's some work.

15 years ago these areas were probably not as developed, and man was not thrust up against them.

It's okay, the insurance companies and local governments have plenty of money to rebuild with.

From what I hear, they are mostly caused by the fire bugs. They've shut down most of the off-road trails up in the mountains to anything but foot traffic. I inquired with the forest service about the trails up off Ortega Hwy leading to the mountains. I was told that if you're caught on the road with a motorized vehicle its an immediate vehicle confiscation. Its really a shame to have these arse holes causing this much trouble for everyone. Until we have real penalties in place, its only going to get worse.

They're not really out of work, Arnold has given them a couple days off without pay in order to get the budget back on track. Thanks Arnold

Arnold isn't the one who has greatly over-spent over the past decade, borrowing billions every single year to cover their over-spending.
You can thank the state legislature for that, especially the ones over there on the left.
Keep it real.

Turns out law enforcement would have to start shooting cattle for the Fillmore fire.

Smouldering manure fire. Now that's some hot scheet. (Ya knew it was coming).

- All over the West, incl. PNW, fire frequency has and magnitude has greatly increased. The major reason for the increase region-wide is climate change.

Excess development (in fire prone areas), fire supression (leads to fuel build up), arson, etc. may be reasons in your particular area.

This morning am 5 stories up in Glendale. Could see the fire smoke from here all day yesterday. It arched up over Camarillo, then went to sea between Pt.Mugu and Oxnard. East wwind took it offshore, where the wind usually dies. The sunset westerlies brought it back, but to Malibu/Westside.

This morning, Westside is socked in a layer of ugly brown, almost like the smog years of long ago. The Catalina eddy and the nightime westerlies have concentrated the smoke against the coast. Valley and San Gabriels are clear cuz the easterlies are back.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast. If this was Fox News, we would have already seen most of Jillians Tats and teets.

Having your vehicle seized isn't a real penalty?

Wow. Really?

I don't know if it's exactly climate change, but the brush areas around SoCal (a Savannah) do naturally burn every few decades.

At any rate, there can be lots of causes - fire bugs, power lines, lightening strikes, exploding cow dung, etc. I've seen palm trees explode when touched by flame - it's bad news; nature's own fire bomb.

That is just an opinion stated as a fact.

My Great-Grandfather (appointed by Teddy Roosevelt as the first U.S.Marshall west of the Continental Divide) in 1965, when asked about global warming opined... "Global warming is simply because there are more butts putting out more hot gases'.

I have always suspected he was right. He actually was an enviornmentalist long before it was fashionable or PC to be so.

Global warming is a fact. I believe it's related to population growth. Think of all the resources any one human uses, and there's the answer.

So, save the planet; kill your neighbor.

some of you should educate yourselves before posting obviously incorrect information

The increases in fire frequency and magnitude are clearly shown in tree ring data and pollen samples from the past several centuries.
