Clint and Ron Howard
I ran into Clint Howard today on a photo assignment in Birmingham. He's here for the premiere of a film he's in, "Alabama Moon."
I've never met Ron, but from what I've seen and heard of him on the box he seems like a very personable, genuine person. Clint is the same way. Very warm and gracious; it's obvious he was raised by good parents. We get a fair amount of "celebrities" through here as we have the Sidewalk Film Festival every Fall. It's a shame I can't say more are as nice as Clint Howard. Although he has had a long and varied career, usually playing some weird-type character, he may not have the acclaim Ron has received for his work, but many will know the face if not the name. Here's a crop from a photo.

Wow, all these years I never knew that they were brothers but having you mention them together then looking at the picture I don't know how I could not have seen it before. Damn I feel dumb right now.

He was in a TV show filmed down in the Key when he was a kid. I gotta goggle it.

Well, it's hard to say, but this is what Wiki had on the subject: "The Phoenix, a Boston-based newspaper, listed Howard as 22nd in their list of "100 unsexiest men in the world," one spot behind his brother Ron." ![]() As far as Ron goes..... No need to be mean.

I've worked with Ron on a couple films. He's a nice guy, married to his High School sweetheart and they have a few kids. His daughter Bryce Dallas, I worked with her on Terminator Salvation and you can tell she had a good upbringing. He gives his brother Clint a part in all his films.

Ron Howard, no. Richie Cunningham, yes. And The Fonz liked to wear leather. Do the math.

LOL! And did you notice the way Mrs. C. always used to give Fonzie the Eye? I think she liked leather, too!

I have always thought it was nice the way Ron did that. And I have wondered if Clint's career may not have been a little bigger -- after reading his bio and resume' it hasn't been too shabby, and he's a very good golfer, too -- if he hadn't have had Ronnie's shadow to work in. I mean really... Opie, Richie Cunningham, etc. You can hardly get away from those two characters in reruns even today. Clint, I think, could have been a bigger "star" doing those nervous, villanous, quirky types -- sort of like a meaner, stranger Woody Allen -- than Ron's good guy characters. Maybe, maybe not. I look forward to seeing this film "Alabama Moon." I'll be at the premiere tomorrow night. John Goodman is the main "star" from what I've been told.

Ron and Clint come from a Show Biz family, for them its just a job unlike the newbies who let it go to their haids.
Notice the Rivera Country Club Polo he is wearing...
