That sucks unimaginably. But you clearly did the right thing- that sounds like a pretty aggressive cancer and she was already suffering. This is one of the few things in life that I'd hug a dude for- E-Hug for you.

Sorry to hear but at least it was quick (not much consolation though). God speed to Anya.

We got the call at about 6pm that it was cancer that had spread from her spleen to her liver and parts of her lungs. They did not want to wake her up from the general anesthesia so we went down and said our good byes to her on the operating room table.

She was only 6 years old.

Very sorry Leland....six is so young....I can't imagine the pain you are going through. Hang in there - I will give my 2 girls some extra hugs for Anya tonight.

That is so sad.
I am very sorry to hear this.
She was a beautiful dog.

It took a while but we eventually got another V puppy. Her name is Autzie and she's now three years old.

She is by far the sweetest dog I've ever had.

Last year we reached out to the breeder and asked to be put in line for another from the next litter. Well, when the next litter came, there was only one pup - and he was a he...

This is Ollie:

They are very happy pups.

Great looking pups!
We have had many Vizslas over the years, and have two at the moment.
Is that a Mountain Pride pup?
We are going to Tahoe this weekend for some hiking, any favorite areas?

Great revival thread...Lymphoma finally got Enzo 18 mos ago. Cammy is still around but is nothing but a foil for my GSP. Put down the gun and picked up a bird for a weapon...

Building super at my office has a Visla mix that is champion leaper. He has a pic from a competition at Squaw Valley where he looks like he is going to jump into orbit.

Leland Pate. One of the posters who made PPBBS great when it was young.

Glad to hear you and your family are having a good second Viszla act to the beloved Anya.

Be well and visit us more often.
