Relative to a v-rod, though?

Talk you out of it? Okay. Those things are really dangerous. Plus, some of your valuable free time would be applied to riding the thing. You'd have to put gas in it, wash it, etc.

I am THIS close to getting my dad on one of these. He said he would consider selling his 20K mile '79 SuperBeetle convertible, of which he is the original owner, to do so. I think he is making excuses. He does still have 2 kids in college though

I've ridden both the Rocket 3 and the V-rod.

Rocket 3 = OMFG this thing moves.

you wont like the V-rod after riding one.

I am going to have to try out the new V-Max. LOVED the old ones..

No doubt. But the Rocket 3 doesn't stir my soul. The other 3 bikes did. All in very different ways. Despite the fact that the Rocket 3 has a 2.3 liter engine, the power/weight ratio is nearly identical to the Harley V-Rod. And the Ducati is much, much faster than either, especially in the corners.

A motorcycle is a very personal thing. I prefer harley and bmw, even though
these manufacturers have some major pluses and minuses. When i see someone
very happy and proud to own a hideous piece of rat garbage, i try to remember
that my opinion is my opinion. It should mean nothing to anyone else. I think my
bike is better looking and set up better than anyone else's. Plus, my bike picks up
hot chicks. The milwaukee vibrator is no longer a secret. Jp

I'm trying to figure out which Duc you rode. Maybe a GT1000? But that isn't particularly quick (though quicker than a Triumph Bonnie and likely many Harleys). Or a Monster?

I rode a 2006 Monster like this one. Dealership won't let you ride, but a friend brought his Duc. Scary fast bike.
