Saw some of their older bikes 2 years ago at World of Wheels--really liked the "fighter" bike. The show got old real quick--every episode was :

corp sponsor wants a bike to highlight their product
Sr and Jr. disagree on design/fab/what to eat for lunch
Mikey provides some comic relief
Sr. and Jr. are concerned they won't make the deadline for the public launch
Sr. has a fit, Jr. has a fit
Shop employees bust their ass, bike gets finished
day of/night before unveiling, a problem is discovered
problem is solved at last possible minute
cue monlogues about how they are both pleased with how bike turned out
repeat next week

OCC is American capitalism at its' finest. Identify a niche market and cater to it. They rode American iron to its' limit and made fortunes! Just proves that there are enough people in the states to support almost any mass marketed gingoistic hype.

1)Not a big fan of the style of bike
2) They "assemble" bikes, they dont build bikes
3) The father acts like a d-bag
4) Story line is the same each week.
5) Both sons appear to be to stupid to work anywhere else.

Other then that, not a show I find very interesting

Exactly my original point - and Junior thinks he can go off on his own now? Talk about believing in your own hype.

What could possibly be the downside?

Yes, they have played the game well.

If you think about the "formula" for the show is pretty well used, look at all the "building" shows (Foose, Boyd, pimp my ride, etc. etc.)

The whole life and death last minute WTF drama gets old after a while... after all these years don't these guys know how long it takes to build something? (I know, it is all part of the show)

But oh well... that is why we can change the channel...

Personally I worked for my dad and the show brings back too many bad memories.
