your ignorance procedes you....that is HARDLY 80's tech. That is a thoroughly modern vehicle...alot more so than the Benz that people "claim" it rips off
You need to lay off the haterade and realize that perceptions of these brands does not equate to reality all the time

It's typical of GM's turnaround time. It takes GM that long to copy a 5 year old design. Other manufacturers can copy in less time. It would be better if GM not start from scratch and instead take a successful design and try to make it better. However, I'll wager the Equinox isn't better.

GM's been doing that forever.

The Vega was close to a copy of a Fiat coupe that was popular in the US then.

The original Nova was v. similar to the lines and proportions of the MB 190 of the time.

The only GM I'd buy now is the Cadillac. CTS and SRX respectfully. The CTS in particular is a noteworthy car (in a positive way).

Ok I'll bite. What technological innovation does this unreliable POS have to separate it from the rest of the GM crap? Stuff that isn't licensed from Bosch. Stuff that makes it superior to a mid 80's Japanese or European car?

Hey - this is a future classic. Up there with the Pacer and Edsel.

GM is doing OK - but I still think all Chevy's should have round tail lights.

Ford has been going to that blunt truck nose on everything. Fugly. Didn't they realize gas was going to go back up??

Um, so nothing will sway your bias?

What Camry do you speak of? 2000 era?

Porsche

Camry (2000)

If so, that's a stretch.

imo the equinox (and whatever siblings it has/had) is one of the better looking suv's on the road.

Can someone PhotoShop the Porsche twist wheels on the Camry? This might be good for a PP forum tuner design exercise.

Obviously you are all too young to remember the Ford Grenada commercials where the ladies are forever mistaking a Mercedes Benz 280 for a Ford Grenada.

The simiarity is obvious

Ironically enough, the Ford Grenada in Europe at that time was a good looking car.

WTF???

MB made many, many different model 190's for 40 plus years and you pick the SL, the one that looks LEAST like the Nova.

My fault, assumed most people would know that I was referring to a 4 door sedan, contemproary to the Nova. Look at the profile of the W110, obviously they didn't use a MB grille and headlights. Actually, the Chevy design director told TIME mag that they started w/ the 190 and modified it.
