Igor the maintenance guy?

Perhaps it was Yelena, the office supplies manager.

We have racking just like that where I work. Those racks are rated to handle a s**t load of weight. Clearly it can get ugly when they're compromised though.

Wow!!
I just went through forklift training and that would be considered "not the right way to operate a forklift".

Even if the guy was DRINK driving(what's up with that term anyway?), the shelves should not have buckled like dominoes.

We used to have a forklift in the shop , for moving motors, broken cars etc. The ignition switch was broken, was like that when we purchased it, and we used it like this for 5 years. We had to hotwire it to get it started.
So one monday morning, I am in my office doing paperwork, and I hear the forklift start up, right behind the office, followed by a large crashing sound. The forklift is now in my office( right through the wall). My employee had hotwired it , but it was in gear, . We were lucky no one got hurt, and that it was not aimed at any customer cars.

Scary stuff. I sell forklifts and was recently in a factory when someone was killed by a load being dropped.

OSHA requires operator safety training, but it is shocking how few companies comply. You wouldnt let an untrained 18 year old drive your Porsche, so why would you trust him to operate a $30k + forklift around pedestrians and valuable stock in a confined warehouse.

If you work around forklifts, dont ever get comfortable. Keep your eyes open at all times!

My boss just laid off one of our two material handlers. Guess who gets to learn how to drive a forklift now?

It's sad, but I'm actually looking forward driving a forklift as long as it means getting off of this damn computer.

I call BS.

The shelves he didn't hit collapsed at the same time without being touched.
