Thumbs up 24 Hours of Lemons!

Yes, I'm the team captain and we're making a run at the 11/21-22 race at Thunderhill in 'the filthy'!

Anyone that wants to stop by and ask us why this is a good idea feel free!
Also, any donations toward fuel would be gladly accepted

I'm going to get the roll cage fabbed up this week, get new tires mounted on six rims, seat and harness install and the power cut-off switch.

It's cheap entertainment!

Car & Driver has entered and run a feature on the event, sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I was closer.
How much would a Mt. Home Gun & Pawn line on the car cost?

I was hoping to get a team ready myself, but too many irons in the fire.

If I make it out there, I'll add my support.

Good luck. Take cheap tools to the penalty box if you are asked to. If you win, make sure you know your bank manager well. It can be "interesting" when you try to cash that many nickels.

Avoiding the 'curse', driving clean and without mechanicals is our main goal.
Top ten would be nice.

We will be semi-live blogging and taking video, too.

Good luck. We just won the first Chumpcar event in Portland over the weekend. We had a group of Porsche guys who race mostly vintage Formula Vees so we know how to keep a slow car going around a track without using up the brakes.

It was great fun and actually great racing too. I've never made so many moves on a race track. I'm fairly new to racing so it was great experience.

The key for us was good clean driving, aggressive when we needed to be, conservative when that made sense. We drove the entire race with no mechanical issues on one set of brakes and tires. Just driver changes, fuel and oil. The car was done at the end, burned valve, shaking like a leaf, clanking and clunking but it made it. I was totally beat at the end and am still a little brain dead. Maybe got a couple of hours of sleep in two days. Drove at night in the fog which is not something I would want to do again. We'll be going again next summer hopefully in Spokane.

Have fun!

Congratulations! That looks like fun.

It really puts it into perspective what the pros can do. Imagine that same drive in a real race car going real fast and then doing a double stint! I am tired after a 20 minute stint at a DE.

Congrats on the win!

I want to run their race at Infineon and Willow Springs next year.
